5 Books for Kids Who Love History and Hamilton!

The first time my children ever heard a song from the Broadway hit musical, Hamilton, they were hooked. They didn’t just love the amazing melodies and unbelievable raps, but they were absorbed in the subject matter each character sang about—of course, only the age-appropriate ones! After finishing the soundtrack, my five-year-old son wanted to learn everything there was to know about duels, and my eight-year-old daughter wanted to know what led Aaron Burr to do what he did to change the course of history.
As a family, we wanted to learn everything we could about this revolutionary time in our country’s past. From the start of a government with George Washington, to the fateful end of Alexander Hamilton’s life—we searched high and low for the right books to teach us about this crucial period of history. In the end, these five books were our absolute favorites. From the littlest reader to your middle grade/young adult child—there’s something here for everyone.

All the way to when Alexander Hamilton was a young man in St. Croix and about to travel to America.
