Lynsay Sands’ Immortal Nights is a Sensual Romance With a Paranormal Twist
Lynsay Sands’ latest novel, Immortal Nights, the twenty-fourth novel in Sands’ Argeneau Vampire Series (which began with the deliciously named A Quick Bite), is a romance of two unlikely lovers on the run from mysterious kidnappers—with a steamy paranormal element.
Abigail Forsythe is starting fresh; after years of prolonged illness, her mother has died, leaving Abigail virtually penniless and pressured to figure out what comes next. Before her mother’s illness, she’d wanted to go to medical school, but now with no money, and after the helplessness and frustration of watching doctors manipulate her mother’s health for years, Abigail isn’t sure what she wants. So she reunites with an old friend, Jet, who promises her a week of R&R on his couch—but instead, she winds up accompanying him on a work-related adventure.

Hiding in the cargo hold of a plane and anxious not to be found, Abigail’s luck begins to turn. She meets her soul mate when she helps free an unnaturally gorgeous Italian man from one of the boxes, only to learn that he has been kidnapped. This is, of course, a running theme in the series; a mysterious doctor has been taking Sands’ Argeneau men (immortal ‘vampires’) for nefarious purposes. The latest man in this series of kidnappings is Tommasso, a brutish, yet sensitive and sensual man who immediately devotes himself to two things: taking down the men who took him, and saving Abigail.
Although the Argeneau Vampire books are known for their suspense and intrigue, this novel is focused more on lengthy bonding scenes between Tommasso and Abigail—in a romantic beach setting, no less—after they jump from the plane and find safety, of course. The romantic scenes are hot and heavy, and quite plentiful. As they grow closer, Abigail seems quite willing to accept what Tommasso tells her: that they are life-mates, and he is not quite human. But being with him—and being one of his kind—would require her to leave the joys of her human life behind her, and to never return home again.
When Abigail gets sick, as a result of her injuries from escaping the kidnappers, time is swiftly running out: Tommasso must get her to safety and bring his kidnappers to justice. But will he change her into one of his own to save her? You will have to read Immortal Nights to find out!
