September’s Best Books for Young Readers


School may be back in session, but that doesn’t mean your kids are ready to drop Reading for Fun 101. And September offers up plenty of material to keep them engaged in their off hours from hitting the school books, including a new graphic novel from Smile author Raina Telgemeier, the kick-off of a fun new series for your little Pokémon fans, a middle grade debut from bestselling author Jennifer Weiner, and more.
Ghosts, by Raina Telgemeier
Raina Telgemeier is back with her signature graphic novel style in this new fictional tale about teenager Catrina, who is moving with her family to a coastal town in Northern California in hopes that the new setting will help her sick little sister.
