We Were Liars, by E. Lockhart
We Were Liars tells the story of Cady, a rich girl who suffers a head injury during her annual summer vacation on a private island off the coast of Cape Cod. Once you finally fill in all the blanks, you’ll want to go back and start from the beginning so you can enjoy the beautiful heartbreak of knowing exactly what’s going on.

Six of Crows, by Leigh Bardugo
Six outcasts. One impossible heist. When Kaz Brekker, criminal prodigy, agrees to break into a highly secure prison, he knows he’s going to have to do some major plotting. But if he does it right, the job of a lifetime just might get him out of Ketterdam for good. Like most heist stories, Six of Crows is full of little hints about what’s actually going on—clues to characters’ backstories and future plot twists you’ll be dying to fully understand. Add in a complicated criminal plan that moves so fast you’ll want to read it twice before you’re sure you could navigate the Ice Palace alongside Kaz and co., and yeah, this one deserves a reread. (Right after you’ve binged sequel Crooked Kingdom.)

Carry On, by Rainbow Rowell
Simon Snow is the Chosen One, but he’s not very good it at. He’s not even predictably terrible. If there’s one thing he can count on, it’s that his roommate Baz will always be there to drive him crazy—until he’s not. When Baz doesn’t return for their last year of school, Simon knows something is up, and he’s pretty sure it has something to do with evil. Sure, there are some twists in this one that make it a good candidate for a reread: plot revelations you can use to answer any questions you had, hints you’ll only appreciate during a second-go-round. But the real reason you need to read Carry On again is because it’s just that good. Simon and Baz are just that good.

The Raven Boys, by Maggie Stiefvater
Blue Sargent is the only non-psychic living in a house of clairvoyants. Gansey is a Raven Boy—a student at the local Aglionby prep school—on the hunt for a dead Welsh king. Much to Blue’s surprise, they become friends…and maybe more. Except Blue’s already knows Gansey is going to die this year, and she might be the cause. Stiefvater packs the four books in the Raven Cycle full of gorgeous writing. She also has a tendency to distract you with said gorgeous writing so you’re completely surprised when something important happens. It’s evil genius. And the only way to counteract it? Read the entire cycle again, starting with The Raven Boys, so you can work out some of the gems she’s hidden in the pages.

Wink Poppy Midnight, by April Genevieve Tucholke
Another book that’s full of lilting, lovely writing, Wink Poppy Midnight is like a lullaby: you don’t even know you’re falling into a trance until you suddenly realize you have no idea what’s coming next. When Midnight moves to a new house, he’s hoping he’ll finally kick his crush on mean-girl Poppy. It helps that Wink, the weird girl across the way, makes for a good distraction. But something is going on between Wink and Poppy that’s out of Midnight’s control; the question is, who’s playing who? Once you realize nothing is at all what it seems, you’ll be dying to read this book a second time with a mind that’s less easily deceived. And sure, the cover tells you someone is lying. But is everyone lying?

The Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowling
Do you even need a reason? This series is the ultimate candidate for a reread. Growing up with Harry is wonderful, but growing up with Harry and then going back to Hogwarts and reading the adventures of the Golden Trio again with a fresh, older perspective will bring your fandom to a whole new level. You’ll find new favorite characters, appreciate new plot details, and (probably) encounter new questions for Rowling—for instance, what’s up with the Sorting Hat? And why doesn’t Harry have any non-Gryffindor friends until Order of the Phoenix?
