10. The Foot Book
Slow feet, quick feet, sick feet, trick feet—this book is filled with the many different kinds of feet you may meet. The simple language and catchy rhythm make it an excellent book for reading aloud to kids or even for early readers to read aloud to their parents. 1. Fox in Socks
Try reading this without laughing and getting your tongue tied in a knot: “When tweetle beetles battle with paddles in a puddle, they call it a tweetle beetle puddle paddle battle.” Dr. Seuss’s Fox in Socks is jam-packed with wonderful wordplay and wacky characters, including tweetle beetles, noodle-eating poodles, chicks with bricks and blocks and clocks, and the titular fox in socks, of course. It makes for an amazing and silly—though certainly challenging—read-aloud for kids and adults alike.
