7 of the Best Girl Packs in YA

7 of the Best Girl Packs in YA

ReunitedPitch Perfect isn’t just about the Barden Bellas’ audacious a capella routines. It’s also about the Bellas themselves, a group of misfits who found something to unite them: smartly using lyrics and mashups to put down the haters. As Beca (Anna Kendrick) affectionately tells the group in Pitch Perfect 2, “When I look back on this, I won’t remember performing and competing. I’m gonna remember you weirdos.” The Bellas are what I like to call a girl pack: a cohesive group who have their smaller partnerships and quirks, but who ultimately have each other’s backs. There are plenty of great literary BFFs, but, as in real life, YA protagonists don’t always have just one best friend. The girl packs here are made up of sisters, classmates, fans, and even rivals. While these groups’ dynamics can make things tricky, the bonds that come out of such close friendships are worth it.
