The Most Human: 6 Star Trek Books to Remember Spock

spocks-world-coverLeonard Nimoy had a long, full career as an actor, director, poet, and photographer. Yet out of a lifetime of accomplishments, his portrayal of a pointy-eared half-human, half-alien on a ’60s sci-fi TV series is unquestionably his enduring legacy—and the reason so many took his death on Feb. 27 so personally. A studied actor serious about the craft, Nimoy initially had a difficult time understanding fans who couldn’t see him as anyone but the pointy-eared Vulcan (hence the title of his first biography, I Am Not Spock). Eventually, he came to embrace the mantle of the galaxy’s most famous stoic. realizing Spock had and always will be a part of him (perhaps even into the actual 23rd century).
Though Nimoy has left us, Spock lives on in the Star Trek franchise, most notably in the novels based on the original series that are still being published today. With the pain of his passing still fresh, let’s look back at 6 of them that put our favorite science officer front and center.
