Two New Ann Leckie Novels Coming from Orbit

NEW YORK, NY (April 10, 2015) – Orbit announces the acquisition of two science fiction novels by Ann Leckie, author of the Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning Ancillary Justice and its sequel, Ancillary Sword. Ancillary Sword has also been nominated for this year’s Nebula Award and, it was announced this week, Hugo Award for Best Novel.
The first novel is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2017 and will be set in the same universe as her previous Ancillary books. The second will be an unrelated science fiction novel. Both novels will be published simultaneously in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Ancillary Justice was Leckie’s debut, and the first novel ever to win all three of the prestigious Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke Awards, honoring the best works in science fiction. Both Ancillary Justice and Ancillary Sword were praised for the quality of their writing, their unique and innovative ideas, and their awareness of social issues. NPR Books called Ancillary Justice “assured, gripping, and stylish,” while the New York Times praised Ancillary Sword as “powerful.”

The third book in the Ancillary universe, Ancillary Mercy, is scheduled to be published in October 2015.
