I started this book with many fears, even though I was raised in a Christian church and continue in faith to this day. Am I a good enough Christian? Am I kind enough? Do I have the required faith? Is there something I'm missing? What if I die and stand before God and find out...too late...that I missed the mark, missed the point, failed to reach the goal...just didn't quite make it. And then hear those dreaded, fatal words...go away! I never knew you! Oh, what a blessing this book was to me! The fifty questions answered my fears with the face and heart of God, through Jesus.  Read it! Get your questions answered! And if you aren't a Christian, take the steps now to change that.

Heavenly FAQ’s This is a book that attempts to answer questions about Heaven. Fifty topics are covered that range from whether or not there will be animals in Heaven, to what we will be doing in Heaven, to the question of near death experiences. Each query is explored by the author giving his perspective supported by scriptural references. The author also gives interesting examples of the subject from his own life, or from the world. For instance, he addresses how angels are viewed in the popular Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, and the Biblical viewpoint–and if there is a difference. At the end of each section, more Bible references are given if the reader wants to do further research on a topic. This book is easy to read, and it is written in an uncomplicated style. The reader can pick out a subject of interest, and find it effortlessly, making it unnecessary to read the entire book to get an answer. The author is a Bible professor at Moody Bible Institute, and received advanced degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary and Grace Theological Seminary. The references provided for each question, make it easy to check out if the Bible really agrees with what Dr. Hart writes on a given subject. You may or may not concur with the author’s take on a topic, but his thoughts will provide a jumping off place for further investigation. If you have some questions about Heaven, I would suggest you start with the Bible first. This 5-star book, would be a good additional reference. The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through Bethany House Publishing for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required, or influenced, to give anything but an honest appraisal.

Most people are curious about Heaven and what eternity will be like, especially after someone they love has gone on.  The author does a wonderful job of addressing 50 questions that are usually asked about Heaven.  Some of them I hadn’t even thought of. I liked the way the table of contents had the questions listed so I could go directly to the ones that interested me most right away.  It will also make it easier if you want to use the book as a reference.  He not only covers what Heaven is, but misconceptions about it too.  I was impressed and how well he discussed most of the subjects in just a few pages.  Not only was there a lot of scriptural references to back up what he was sharing, but there were even more verses at the end each one for further study and reading.  I enjoyed the interesting illustrations, some of them personal ones, that he used throughout the books. There were only two things that I did not like about the book.  One was the many Bible translations he used, 14 to be exact.  For me it made answers disjointed and harder to read.  I easily remedied that by using my own Bible and looking up each verse, and that definitely wasn’t a bad thing at all! Secondly I felt a few of his answers were more his speculation than Bible truth.  In those incidents, the Bible references did not match up with his explanation. All in all, this book was a pleasure to read and made a wonderful Bible Study.  I think it would be great to use in teaching a Sunday school class.   I received this book free from Bethany Publishers, which requires an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I received a copy of 50 Things You Need to Know about Heaven by Dr. John Hart, a very easy to read book full of questions and answers that also give you reference for further Bible study for the answers to the questions so many have about Heaven. Some of the questions that you will find answered are. What will Heaven look like? Where is Heaven? What will we do in Heaven? Are there marriages and families in Heaven? Will we eat and drink in Heaven? What will we do in Heaven? Do Christians go to Heaven immediately after they die? Do people in Heaven know what is happening on earth? How can I be sure I'm going to Heaven? This is a book you can read from cover to cover, just look through and read the answers to your questions, or use it as a study guide along with your Bible, to learn more about the answers to Heaven. I liked that the author doesn't merely answer your questions but also gives Bible scripture under each section (question and answer) for further reference that you can personally read for yourself.   I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about Heaven, or would make a great gift.

I was drawn to this book by the title and the synopsis that the Bible can answer our most important questions about heaven. As a long-time student of the Bible, I was curious to see what Dr. Hart would share in his book. While I do not share Dr. Hart’s prevailing religious conviction that all we must do is believe in Jesus to receive the eternal life promised in the Bible, I thought Dr. Hart’s handling of Biblical text was fair and for the most part unbiased.  The organization of the book of one question per chapter worked well. I liked how Dr. Hart referenced multiple translations of the Bible as he addressed different questions. I also like how he briefly referenced scripture in the text but then at the end of each chapter included additional references if we want to study more about a specific topic. It was helpful how he referenced other chapters in the book as needed instead of repeating material he already covered or would cover later in the book.  I found the book easy to read, but thoughtful and thorough in its presentations of the chosen topics. I was particularly intrigued about Dr. Hart’s discussion about the “new earth.” While this discussion of heaven might not answer all your questions, it does an excellent job of showing us how much information the Bible has to share with us about heaven. Bethany House gave me a complimentary copy of 50 Things You Need to Know about Heaven by Dr. John Hart to review.

Everyone has questions about heaven. This is a resource book that may help many others with explaining about heaven. It covers many topics and such, from kids, to worshipping God, to the white throne Judgement in Revelation 20 and plenty of others. As I said this is a great resource that would benefit plenty of leaders/lay persons. It has scripture to back everything up to back it up to the Word of God. ***this book was sent to me from Bethany Publishers and all opinions are my own.***

I enjoyed reading 50 Things You Need to Know About Heaven. The author answers questions many have asked or will ask at some point. The Bible scriptures used to support each question and answer eliminate doubt, provides insight and speaks the truth. The gift of eternal life is often ignored; death is viewed as the end of life and feared by many. However, Christians know death is the beginning of a new life. We are given the opportunity to live a eternally with God after departing this earth. This book gives a clear understanding of life in Heaven. After reading this book, I remind myself daily what the gift of eternal life means. Thanks Dr. Hart for writing an awesome book. Thanks Bethany House for selecting me to read this book free of charge.

I received a copy of 50 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEAVEN by Dr. John Hart from Bethany House. The title alone caught my attention, but once I read the synopsis, I knew this would be a book to share. Many people question what happens after death. They wonder if everyone goes to Heaven and what people do there. They also wonder if they will see loved ones. I’ve heard people ask these things many time, from many religions and backgrounds. Well, this book dives into the Bible to answer these queries. On page 11, the book states that it is a “guide to what the Bible says about heaven.” Once I started reading, I settled back in my chair and kept going. The chapters are short, fifty chapters total, and the book is altogether 137 pages. Because the sections are short, you’re able to read, ponder, and then discuss them. It is also a great opportunity to pull out a copy of the Bible to read the verses mentioned. The chapter endings also include a “for further study” paragraph that lists crucial verses. Overall, this is an excellent book to compliment your bookshelves and to share with others, especially for a Bible study group.

50 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEAVEN BY Dr. John Hart I think this book is one of the best I have read on the subject of Heaven. I found Dr. Hart's answers to be informative and scriptural based. He gives very easy to understand answers to 50 questions about Heaven we all should know and may have asked. The 50 subjects about Heaven the author chose to answer are very important and asked many times. Some of the questions are about who will go to heaven, what does the Old Testament say about Heaven, what we will do there, who we will see, and many more. Some of the answers may surprise you and will confirm what you already know. One thing this book is not is boring. When I started to read the book, I did not want to stop but I also wanted to understand each answer before I continued into the next answer. I would recommend this book to be used in discussion sessions and would help all involved to a better understanding where Christians are going to spend eternity. I received this book free from Bethany House for purpose of this review, I was not required to write a positive review, the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This book was even better than expected. The common questions posed, and the author’s conversational tone in delivering the answers is so easy to comprehend. Far more than just inspirational, this book is educational—the greatest lessons for life, and the life-after. Here is an example of some of the questions answered (with sound Biblical answers) in this 144 page book: Who goes to heaven? What will we do in heaven? Will animals be in heaven? What does the Bible say about hell? There is a wealth of information on each page. A question is posed at the beginning of each chapter, followed by an inspirational contemporary ‘story’ that relates, a clear, easy to understand answer, and verses listed at the end for further reading. This book can easily be read in a day, but is a keeper for referring back to. It would also be a great gift for new Christians. Kudos to Dr. John Hart for answering these questions in an uncomplicated, easy-listening way—as if he’s sitting across from you in an easy chair, having a friendly conversation. There isn’t anything I don’t like about this book. It’s a great source, and the newest book to my ‘keeper’ bookshelves.
