About the Author

Sean McLachlan first came to Missouri in the early 1990s to earn a Master's degree in archaeology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and fell in love with the rich heritage of the state. He worked for ten years as an archaeologist in Israel, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and various places in the United States before enrolling in the University of Missouri's School of Journalism, where he earned a second Master's degree. Now a full-time writer, his work has appeared in such publications as Missouri Life, Yoga Journal, and Ancient Egypt. He is the author of Byzantium: An Illustrated History and Missouri: An Illustrated History.
