About the Author

Hard to imagine a more glamorous life than being an accountant, isn’t it? Still, I gave up the thrills of income tax forms and double entry book-keeping when I sold my first book in 1998. Hard to believe I’ve now written more than 40 (2 of which were nominated for RITAs).

When I’m not writing I love to be out hiking, cross-country skiing or biking. I’m not athletic—I just enjoy the outdoors, especially here in Calgary, where I live, and on Flathead Lake, Montana, where we have a cottage. My partner Mike and I share this in common. We also love to play cribbage and Scrabble. If a glass of wine is on the table, so much the better!

This is a wonderful Christmas story of a mother with her child who survived leukemia. The story was based upon the mystery of the little town in Montana. This is not a cliffhanger despite the fact it is only 134 pages long! I would recommend this story because just like Christmas, it will make a grey sky blue, and it will fill the day with sunshine. I definitely enjoyed the story and I believe you will also,

This is a well written Christmas Story. The characters are so emotional and believable. The struggles of a Mother who's son had cancer and now must learn to let him be a normal boy again. I couldn't put it down until I finished the book. Plan on reading more of her books. joy943

A heartwarming story that will leave you believing in the magic of Christmas. For Willa Fairchild, it was all about getting away for Christmas. She brought her son Scout to Marietta Montana to spend three weeks at Bramble House B&B. The trip was planned by a patient who she befriended before he died. Finn Conrad needed to learn more about the woman who received a large chunk of his father's money after he died. He couldn't understand why he would leave so much money in his will to someone else and so little to him and of his siblings. What Finn didn't expect to find was a kind hearted woman with a child who was recently given a clean bill of health after fighting cancer. Finn also didn't expect he would soon be falling in love with Willa. What will happen when Willa finds out the truth about Finn? This is one of those memorable stories that you will remember for a long time. The slow build to Willa and Finn's romance was perfect and the mystery of the ring and how it brings a family together was a perfect touch to the story.

A sweet Christmas story with magic and forgiveness. On the short side, the Christmas take seemed to end a little abruptly

Nothing is better at getting us into the holiday spirit than all of the mushy-gushy, Christmas Hallmark movies and romance books, and, if you are a reader wanting to get into the holiday cheer, then A Bramble House Christmas is certainly going to get the job done! Just like any holiday book, this one gives off many warm and fuzzies as we spend Christmas with Willa, Scout, Finn and all of the Bramble family, working to uncover family mysteries, attending Christmas parades, and falling in love with the spirit of Christmas all over again. The romance is clean, and though there is some language, it is very entertaining and well-worth the read. The mystery is enticing and keeps the book progressing at a decent pace that’s not too slow nor too fast. The characters are easy to get attached to and the readers will find themselves rooting for them to achieve their goals! All in all, I give A Bramble House Christmas 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it as an excellent way to spread the Christmas cheer! What a wonderful read. It bring you back to the Carrigans but in a different way. Willa Fairchild received a wonderful gift a Christmas vacation at the Bramble house for herself and her son from a former patient and is happy to give her son a normal Christmas after the years they spent it in the hospital dealing with his cancer scare. The son of the man wants to know how the woman had gotten to his dad and went up there to find out about her and find out that she didn't ask for it and starting to fall in love with both the little boy and the mom. And what is even funny is that he is related to the Carrigans through his father with out knowing it,

A Bramble House Christmas by CJ Carmichael is a great holiday read. A Bramble House Christmas is well written with lovable characters. Willa and Finn's story is loaded with suspense, humor and spice. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from CJ Carmichael in the future. A Bramble House Christmas is book 6 of the Carrigans Of The Circle C Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

***This ebook was provided by Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review*** A Bramble House Christmas is book #6 in The Carrigans of the Circle C series and it was another great book in a great series. Finn Knightly a.k.a. Finn Conrad wants to know why his recently deceased father left his nurse fifty thousand dollars after knowing her a mere six weeks. So he travels to Bramble House B&B in Marietta, Montana to find answers but as soon as he meets Willa and her six year old son, Scout he has more questions than answers. He find himself attracted to Willa but he knows that since he's lying to her there can't be a real future between them. I really enjoyed reading about Finn and Willa- they weren't looking for love and romance during the holiday season but the more time they spend together the harder it is for them to fight the attraction. I loved Scout character- I thought he was a great kid and his character added to the story. I highly recommend reading A Bramble House Christmas and if you haven't read the rest of the books in the series you should read them

A Bramble House Christmas by C. J. Carmichael This story starts out with Willia and her son Scout as they arrive at the top of the snowstorm to spend a week at Bramble House in Montana. She was a private nurse to a man who died, giving her a sapphire ring and the trip around the holidays. She had no clue as to the $50k when he had died. Her son has just beaten cancer and is on the mend but she still mothers him. Love the traditions of the area as I've read of them in other books by other authors of the same town. The story also follows Finn who is not only an illustrator of kids books but it was his father who had died. He and his sisters want to find out more about the nurse that tended to him when they didn't know how sick he really was. Problem is they fall in love with one another as they get to spend a lot of time together doing fun things with the other townsfolk. Loved the mystery surrounding not only the ring but the family history. Can't wait to read more of this series as the descriptions were very detailed I felt a part of what was going on. .

This is part of a series but the first i have read by this author .. it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Set in Montana, we meet Willa & her 6 year old son Scout .. they have checked into ‘Bramble House’ for an extended vacation a gift from Willa’s late ‘patient’ she nursed. They have had a rough time recently & this should be a relaxing break if only she can become less protective as a mom & allow Scout to participate in some of the outdoor activities. The owners of the B&B make her feel welcome, there are only a couple of other guests, one is Finn .. Scout is instantly enamoured with him when he finds out he does the illustrations for his favourite books .. Willa also thinks Finn is rather attractive but there are a few secrets lurking … will they remain friendly if the truth is revealed on both sides! This is the perfect book to read to get into the festive spirit but would also work at any time of year, full of charm, sweetness, family, friendship & love plus plenty of snow! I absolutely devoured it & I’m keen to read all the others now to join the links of the family together anticipating they will be be just as enjoyable. Thanks to the author & Lola’s Blog Tours for giving me the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Adorable Christmas story, filled with lovely Christmassy moments, in the winter wonderland, that Marietta, Montana is. There are so many things to love about this story, the scenery, the characters, the winter activities, all beaming up with the old fashioned Christmas spirit. Add to that the most adorable little boy, a cancer survivor, so sensitive spirit, but a true athlete in the body, now that he beat cancer. I love Scout. Willa and Finn form a sort of a holiday romance, they spent time together, get to know each other, and soon both of them are falling for each other, but either of them are completely honest with each other. Because there's no way Willa could know, that they didn't meet by chance. This story made me smile several times, there's something very tender about it. The connections Willa and Finn make in the story, not with each other, but others in Marietta, is intriguing. And even though the conflict between Finn and Willa is heartbreaking, as all the secrets are revealed, they don't dwell on it, but soon accept their responsibility in the matter, and find forgiveness. A lovely, touching story, that will give you back some of the magic of childhood Christmases ~ Four Spoons

A Bramble House Christmas, by CJ Carmichael, is a selection of the multifaceted Copper Mountain series from Tule Publishing. RN Willa Fairchild was bequeathed a three week Christmas vacation at the Bramble House B&B as well as $50,000 by the late hospice patient Greg Conrad. When Willa and her son, Scout, arrive in Bozeman, Montana after their flight from Phoenix, they are met by a snow storm that progresses until almost blinding when they finally arrive in Marietta, Montana and the B&B. On the drive, Scout asks his mother to promise that she will not tell those they meet about the cancer he has survived, just to let him be a regular kid and she cautiously agrees. Among those at the B&B are the owners, Eliza and Marshall McKenzie, her aunt, Mable Bramble, a mysterious man, Kris Krinkle, and a book illustrator who identifies himself as Finn Knightly, but is in fact the son of Greg Conrad and there on behalf of his family to find out if their dad was swindled out of money that should have been their inheritance. Finn hits it off big with Scout and begins doing things with him and his mom. Quickly Finn becomes convinced that Willa is not a swindler, but is unable to find out why his father would do such a thing. As they spend more time together and become better acquainted, they both feel the attraction. But the attraction Finn feels is not just for Willa, but also Scout, who seems to be an unusual but happy little boy. Once Finn learns that Scout is a cancer survivor, the pieces begin to fall into place and he understands his father's final act of generosity. But it is at this point that Willa discovers Finn's full identity, feeling betrayed by a man she felt strongly about once again. What had promised to be an exceptionally wonderful Christmas turns into another unhappy day for Willa. But just maybe there is more magic at work than Kris Krinkle's dog sled deliveries to sick children. This heartfelt tale has the true meaning of Christmas shown throughout, that of love, generosity, and care and concern for others. It is a wonderful Christmas story and I recommend it for anyone wanting to experience the spirit of Christmas

Finn Knightly has followed Willa Fairchild to Marietta Montana for Christmas after he finds out his father left her a large amount of money in his will. Willa is a single mom to a son, who was recently cured of cancer, and works as a part time nurse. I loved this story it was full of Christmas spirit and small town Montana charm. The main characters were lovable and battling there own issues. But will they be able to be together after she finds out what his real name is.

A beautiful story which entwines two families through the magic of Christmas: love, romance, healing, and a few miracles along the way. Heartwarming and a joy to read. I highly recommend!
