You wouldn't think it to look at him, but H.K. Hillman is a Doctor. Not 'the' Doctor, just 'a' Doctor, and not the medical kind. The scientific kind. This is why writing takes so long. He is obliged to check facts even in fiction. It's in the scientist blood. Speaking of blood, most of his tales are intended to keep you awake at night, when you're alone in the dark. If this happens to you, please spare a thought for the author who has to think these things up. Alone. In the dark.

I cant believe the reviews i am reading, "makes you think" some people will read a story and believe it to have some truth, no matter what it says. I understand it was a story but it was obvious the writer was pushing an agenda, evil christmas. And some of you are buying it. Celebrating the birth of a saviour, this doesnt need any convincing arguments. Traditions dont equal evil plot.

There's not much to recommend this book. I disagree with other reviewers as I did not find that it "made me think."
The book has a good premise, but it was wrapped up around page 44. It seems the author lost interest in the story.

Have not read this one yet, but love his other books. Samuel's Girl and Jessica's Trap are shall we say - spellbinding? So I'm looking forward to reading it. This author makes the Dark Arts fun. Seems I have to give it some kind of star rating, so I'm going to go ahead and give it 5 based on his subject knowledge, ability to tell a great story, and previous novels.
