A Cowboy's Heart by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Burned by love...

Bryce McGavin was a born musician until his fiancée skipped town and left him at the altar. His guitar has been gathering dust ever since, but now his brother Zane is getting married and wants Bryce to play for the ceremony. Bryce isn't up to the challenge. He doesn't believe in happily-ever-afters. And he's in no condition to perform, let alone at a wedding.

Nicole Williams just inherited a renovated Victorian, a cranky cat, and a new life in Eagles Nest after sending her cat-hating, overbearing boyfriend packing. She's not looking for love, but when she starts singing at the Guzzling Grizzly, she's drawn to Bryce, a sexy cowboy with music in his soul, even if he denies it. He's even winning over her cat.

They say that music soothes the savage beast, but can it mend a cowboy's broken heart?

A Cowboy's Heart is the fourth book in the McGavin Brothers western romance series from the NYT bestselling author who brought you the Sons of Chance and Thunder Mountain Brotherhood series. If you like sexy cowboys, memorable characters and a touch of humor, you'll love meeting the McGavin brothers.

About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Vicki Lewis Thompson’s love affair with cowboys started with the Lone Ranger, continued through Maverick, and took a turn south of the border with Zorro. She views cowboys as the Western version of knights in shining armor, rugged men who value honor, honesty and hard work. Fortunately for her, she lives in the Arizona desert, where broad-shouldered, lean-hipped cowboys abound. Blessed with such an abundance of inspiration, she only hopes that she can do them justice.

Once again, Ms Thompson takes us back to Eagles Nest and the McGavin brothers. In this one, we have Bryce, a young man that was emotionally destroyed when his bride to be changed her mind and left him at the altar. A talented musician, he gives up his guitar and now manages the local bar. Nicole Williams is a newcomer to town and meets when she has an altercation with her boyfriend. She ends up singing a couple of nights a week at the bar and needless to say, sparks fly between these two. Though my favorite stories have been book 1 and especially book 3, it was still a good book. It’s a sweet romance with some angst, especially since we see how Bryce struggles with his musical talent. Will he ever pick up his guitar or has his ex totally destroyed that love? As with book 2, it’s a book for a younger crowd. Both characters are in their mid 20s and still are finding themselves. All that said, I am looking forward to the next book in the series. You always know you will be entertained by this talented author. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Finding the Right Woman. My new favourite in the series. Nicole Williams the new hair stylist in town, starts to play in the Guzzling Grizzly, the bar where Bryce McGavin is manager, two nights a week. Her love and joy in music reignites his own passion and not just for the music. Can be read as a standalone. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

It is funny what breakups do to people. Not funny, ha, ha, but funny interesting. In the case of Bryce McGavin, the latest McGavin to get his HEA in A Cowboy’s Heart by Vicki Lewis Thompson, the breakup with his childhood sweetheart resulted in the loss of his music. There wasn’t a question that the right girl would help him get it back; Nicole Williams is just the girl. This book has one of my new all-time favorite characters in it: a feline named Jimi Hendrix that definitely rules the roost. The right girl helps Bryce get his music back. The right guy tames Jimi. If anything, pick up this book just for the cat. You won’t be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
