Cowboy to the rescue!
When big-hearted Luke Bennett spots a dog stranded on the highway in a snowstorm, he leaps into action. Saving the day is what this sexy cowboy does. Whether it's a stray animal in peril or a business going down the tubes, Luke's the guy to call.

But it will take all his management skills to rescue Abigail Summers from bankruptcy. Although she bakes like an angel and her pastries are a hit, the devil's in the details. She could be Luke's dream girl, but her cardboard box overflowing with a year's worth of receipts is his worst nightmare.

Saving the day and winning the girl looks damn near impossible. Then again, he has a four-footed ally named Delilah.

About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Vicki Lewis Thompson’s love affair with cowboys started with the Lone Ranger, continued through Maverick, and took a turn south of the border with Zorro. She views cowboys as the Western version of knights in shining armor, rugged men who value honor, honesty and hard work. Fortunately for her, she lives in the Arizona desert, where broad-shouldered, lean-hipped cowboys abound. Blessed with such an abundance of inspiration, she only hopes that she can do them justice.

Love this series!!! Luke is perfect, he is compassionate, straight forward, smart, sexy and very patient. His big heart was immediately displayed when he discovered Delilah. As a business owner, Abigail has to put on her big girl pants and mature quick fast & in a hurry, Luke gently guides her to realizing that loving to bake and being successful business owner have to work hand in hand. She is a little stubborn & dramatic, lol, mixing business and pleasure usually is though. One of the many things I really love about the guys from Eagle's Nest is they are man enough to own up to having feelings instead of pretending. Very emotional, heart wrenching story, I couldn't put it down and never wanted it to end. This cowboy knows exactly what he wants....it's in his kiss!! Another, excellent, well written addition to this series!

The town of Eagle's Nest keeps becoming a more fun place to visit with each McGavin book, and honorary-McGavin Luke Bennett and bakery owner Abigail Summers are a fantastic couple at the center of this story. Luke, a financial advisor who helps businesses strategize, is the soft-hearted kind of cowboy who can't pass by a lost dog running along a snowy highway. The border collie takes to him right away--and so does Abigail Summers, who loans him her scarf as a leash. While Abigail likes him, she also needs his skills: her bakery, which she loves and seems to do brisk business, is on the brink of financial ruin. She's embarrassed to share how bad it is with anyone, even the expert, because she doesn't want anyone to think she's an idiot. But despite her hesitation, she begins to take Luke's advice, and their friendship--and attraction--grows with every business and social meeting. The slow-burn of the relationship ramps up the tension and gives readers plenty of time to get to know and enjoy the secondary cast: Ingrid and Roxanne, Abigail's neighbors who all live in apartments above the bakery; the Whine and Cheese club, who are at their best yet donning costumes to advertise Abigail's launching specialty coffee business (at Luke's suggestion); and Roxanne's rancher father, who just might be the man to get Kendra McGavin back in the dating world (if he didn't live so far away). The relationships between the women in this book shine. While Luke has plenty of male support from the earlier series heroes, it's the positive and powerful female friendships that give this book its heart (along with a growing friendship between Luke and Kendra, who can offer motherly advice without over-mothering). The love story between Luke and his dog adds another layer of warm fuzzies to the tale, making it a perfect Valentine to snuggle up with. Lest you worry, though, there's still plenty of steamy romance here. The sweet factor is high, but the sizzle never disappoints. VLT fans and newcomers will find plenty to enjoy--and look forward to as the series continues! (I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.)

A Cowboy’s Kiss by Vicki Lewis Thompson is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Luke and Abigail are the perfect match. There are plenty of McGavin and Eagle’s Nest sightings to make longtime readers happy. New readers will have no problem catching up. I love this series and can’t wait for the next ones.

I LOVE this story! Abigail and Luke are a wonderful couple, and the story is both sweet and sexy. Luke is a wonderful hero, with so many good qualities, like compassion, caring, kindness, devoted to his family, love of animals, and a gorgeous cowboy. Abigail is a sweet and caring woman that is hardworking and devoted to her friends, employees, and community. Delilah, the dog that Luke finds, is a great part of the story, a dog anyone would be proud to have. I definitely recommend this book!!

First Kiss Magic. Abigail is a talented baker but a poor businesswoman, in that she has no idea of her expenses, her inventory or her sales. She gets to the stage where she knows she requires help or she will lose her bakery. She doesn’t expect the help to come in the package of Luke, a hot cowboy lookalike and his adorable dog. It is not long before business is not the only thing on their minds. Another fab story set in Eagles Nest and involving some of the characters from previous books. This can however be easily read as a standalone. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This is a new addition to the author’s McGavin Brothers series. Each book a stand alone, though reading the previous stories will give up a better insight of the McGavin’s and the town. This one centers around one of their friends, Luke Bennett, and Abigail, owner of the new bakery in town. They meet when she decides to hire him to help her with her business plan, or lack thereof. They hit it off immediately and the sparks start to fly. Though the road to romance does hit a few obstacles. The secondary characters are always interesting , especially the ones we have met before. The hint of a potential beau for Kendra, Mom to the McGavin brothers was a nice surprise. And let’s not forget Delilah, the dog Luke rescues. Though not my favorite of the stories, still it was entertaining and an easy read. Looking forward to what else the author has in store for us in the upcoming books of this series. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

We first met Luke in A Cowboy’s Christmas when his sister, Hayley, fell in love with Badger. (If you haven’t read that book, you will have no problem reading this one on its own…but you are missing a fun and sexy story!) Anyway, Luke has moved to Eagle’s Nest and is finding success as a business analyst. On his way to meet a client at the Guzzling Grizzly, he spies a beautiful dog who is lost in a snowstorm and coaxes her in to the warmth of his truck. Abigail, who is also fairly new to Eagle’s Nest, enters the story when she arrives at the GG at the same time as Luke to deliver some of her delicious pies for the restaurant to sell. They hit it off when Abigail offers her scarf to Luke as a temporary leash for his new furry friend. Despite being a fabulous baker, Abigail is not a good businesswoman. Knowing she needs help before her business goes under, she hires Luke to save her bakery, Pie in the Sky. (It's an added bonus that Luke is drop dead gorgeous as well as kind to animals!) Luke makes several recommendations of ways to improve her business including encouraging Abigail to develop a system for keeping inventory of supplies and records of sales and expenditures. As desperate as she is to save her business, only a cowboy as sexy as Luke could make her do math! No Eagle’s Nest story would be complete without the McGavins and the Whine and Cheese Club ladies all of whom make appearances in this book. We are introduced to several new characters as well. Roxanne and Ingrid, Abigail’s friends and neighbors, are very likeable and Roxannes’s dad, Quinn, shares a fun scene with Kendra McGavin that seems to be foreshadowing a story to come! Delilah, the lost dog, plays an integral and fun role in helping bring the main couple together. Overall, Luke and Abigail’s story is as sweet as the confections she bakes and the words “light a candle” will never be the same again! *I am grateful to have been given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review. I honestly don’t think you will be disappointed!
