Deb’s Dozen: Spontaneous Charity Auction Bid Yields A Dream for Love – Happily Ever After! Laurel Simmons was stunned. Her sister, obviously out of her mind, had just bid on and won a week’s vacation for two at actor Ryan Crandall’s beach house on Martha’s Vineyard. And then, Tammy announced she was giving the “dream” vacation to Laurel for an early birthday present. Laurel sputters and protests, but a month later, she and her daughter, Gracie, a precocious four-year-old, arrive at the home for their week on the beach. The house and its view are spectacular, the service stupendous, and they settle in to enjoy the windfall. Then Ryan Crandall, rude and insufferable, arrives to turn the dream into a nightmare. He wants them gone; they want nothing to do with him. But, fate interferes, and they are stuck with each other for the week. Laurel has a past and a secret she will do anything to keep to ensure Gracie’s and her safety. Ryan has a past reputation of wine and women—he’s here to escape the latest scandal. Can they both win? Will circumstances arrange A Dream for Love or A Dreadful Nightmare for them all? A Dream for Love is the first book in Lisa Belcastro’s Possible Dreams series. If the rest of the books are as good as this one, she has a hit series on her hands. I loved the book and the characters. Gracie is delightful and Laurel’s sister, Tammy, is a hoot. Laurel and Ryan will grow on you as the book progresses. Almost as charming as the story and the characters is the setting: Belcastro lives on the Vineyard and obviously loves her home island. I found myself wanting to visit to sample the delicacies and the scenery. Light and breezy with a tinge of mystery and drama, A Dream for Love (Possible Dreams Book 1) is well worth five stars. Lisa Belcastro is an award-winning author who does live on Martha’s Vineyard, the setting for her Winds of Change series and for the Possible Dreams series. A Dream for Love is Lisa’s fifth novel. Her debut novel, Shenandoah Nights, won the Christian Small Publisher’s Association’s (CSPA) Romance Book of the Year Award in 2014. Shenandoah Dreams, her third book, also won the CSPA Romance Book of the Year in 2015. Shenandoah Christmas, a novella, won the SELAH Award in its category in 2015. All of her books have been nominated for awards—she’s that good! Lisa loves time with her family and friends, running, outdoor activities, cooking, her cat, Ben, and travel. She’s planning to run in the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge in January of 2016 and enjoys walking the beach looking for sea glass or enjoying a delectable meal while she pens the cuisine column for Vineyard Style Magazine. This is a great story! I had the pleasure of reading A Dream for Love while visiting the story’s setting—Martha’s Vineyard. What fun to experience the places along with the characters. And the characters—Laurel, Ryan, little Gracie, and Laurel’s sister—are so wonderfully developed. At the beginning, I wondered how the hero could possibly become a man I’d want the heroine to end up with by the end of the story, but I soon found myself falling for him right along with Laurel and her daughter. It was an interesting glimpse into the inner life of a movie star who’s lost his way. Best of all, there’s a good dose of pending jeopardy and suspense that kept me glued to the page to the very end.

Laurel, Gracie and Ryan represent much more than the eye beholds. Laurel and Ryan each own dark secrets from the past. Neither is interested in a relationship, and steer clear of each other. Princess Gracie finds Prince Ryan enchanting! A four-year-old treated like a princess becomes a princess, and her mother is entranced by the relationship. A beautiful, developing romance that may go nowhere, is enhanced by the closeness and tenderness that Ryan exhibits with Gracie. Ryan's good points seem to be extracted by a sweet, loving, adorable child. As he dotes on her, Laurel is cautiously aware that her little girl has fallen for a "fallen" prince. This is one of the sweetest and heartwarming stories I've read in a while. The interaction between Prince Ryan and Princess Gracie is priceless! To me, that is one of the high points in this story, along with the budding romantic feelings that Ryan and Laurel begin to feel for each other. There is some darkness in this seemingly heartwarming tale, and life is tested to the limit. You'll need to pick up a copy of this wonderful book to find out all the details involved! I highly recommend "A Dream for Love!" You'll find happy times where it seems there could be none. Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. I absolutely loved this book It is the perfect mixture of romance, faith and mystery that had me caught up in the lives of the characters from the first pages and kept me reading. I read it in one setting because I couldn't put it down. The author has created characters that made you feel as if you knew them personally, and I was totally captivated with Gracie, an adorable and precocious little girl who lives in her own fairy tale world. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and it is a must read for anyone who enjoys really good Christian fiction. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely won't be my last.

Gracie, especially, kept me smiling. I have a four-year-old daughter myself and she and Gracie could have been twins. Every time I read about something Gracie did or said, I found myself nodding because that's exactly how my daughter would have reacted. Loved it! I enjoyed the way the author introduced Ryan and gradually worked to help the reader get to know him. She managed to remind us of his ties as an actor but didn't focus on his time on set, which I liked. I felt like the first couple of chapters were a touch slow, but the book was worth it. The story moved along well and I liked how the author developed the personalities and backstories of Laurel and Ryan as they get to know each other. While I had some suspicions as to what might be going on in Laurel's past, the author still kept me holding my breath until the end. If you enjoy a good romance novel with a great story line and well-developed characters, you'll be glad you read A Dream for Love. I was given an advanced reader's copy for my honest review of this book.
