Based on the prologue (shown below as the excerpt), it's easy to conclude that this is a case involving separated twins who have discovered each other and so it is but, in a coincidence to top them all, these twins are about to learn some things that will really rock their world. First and foremost, Gia and Dani need to know who seems to want to keep them separated and why. For that, they enlist the aid of the Forensics Instincts crew. The FI company is an interesting hodgepodge of people who have individual strengths they bring to bear in solving crimes, sort of private investigators on steroids. I like these people (although they're not all people and I like the non-people even more) and the way they interact with each other. At the time we first encounter them, they're working a stalking case in which a college student is being relentlessly pursued by a professor and, once they resolve this situation, the team is ready to take on the investigation into what's happening to Gia and Dani and, just as importantly, what happened in the past. Surprises at nearly every turn and questions leading to more questions take the team and the young women down a twisty road and what develops is alarming and malevolent past comprehension. This is my first encounter with the Forensics Instincts group and I found them credible with just a touch of wow-ness to their individual strengths. Clearly, they're closeknit, a kind of family, and they rely on each other unreservedly. In some ways, they remind me of the geniuses in the TV show, "Scorpion", and, with all their strong points, they're also touchingly vulnerable. I'm eager to spend more time with Casey, Hutch and all the rest; fortunately, I have five previous books to keep me going till the next one comes out.

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings The sixth book in a series and this is one of those series where you can read mostly out of order because the mystery is self contained, there is some character development that you may miss out on the Forensics Insights team, but I am actually two books behind, so I haven't read book 4 or 5 and I didn't feel like I was missing too much. I would say at least read book 1 so you know how the team gets formed and then you can read this one if you want to. I have to start by saying I just love the team. I love that everyone has their own nitch and each of them is a vital part of the team. I love that once you learn everyone on the team you can get attached to one or a few and as a reader it is exciting to get a series where you care about the characters from book to book.

The team at Forensic Instincts are back and currently working 2 cases. One a stalking case of a Grad student, Brianna, and the other an eerily doppelgänger chance meeting of 2 strangers, Gia and Dani, that turns sinister when their lives are endangered. But why? They realize, after becoming friends, that they have a lot in common aside from looking so much like the other, one being that they are both adopted. They decide to take a DNA test to see if their resemblance to each other could be familial. They soon find out not only are they related but they are identical twins. The story begins twenty-seven years ago with a mob hit. Does this have something to do with the twins? And why does the Forensic Instincts team think that their 2 cases are tied together in some way? The story was fluid with believable characters. A captivating and engrossing read! There were so many twists and turns in this incredibly suspenseful story. I thought for sure I had it all figured out, once, twice, and even three times when the author delivers a one-two punch that I didn’t see coming. An electrifying and startling ending!!! A warning, you will be saying to yourself “just one more chapter”, but once you start it, you will want to finish it in one sitting because it is just SO good! A definite unputdownable read!!!!

The Forensic Instincts team is investigating two different cases. The first one is the stalking of grad student Brianna. The other is a strange case of two women looking exactly alike. Gia and Dani get to be close friends and end up learning that they are closer than they look. But the past is going to come crashing in and stir up these three women’s lives. It’s up to the Forensic Instincts unit to get everything sorted and keep them alive. Two separate woman are introduced and become fast friends. Then they learn that they are twins that have been separated because of a horrible event in the past. But there is more to this story and the past is not going to stay there. The Forensic Instincts team has their hands full putting together all the pieces and keeping the women alive. I read The Stranger You Know and really enjoyed that book. So when I was offered A Face to Die For I had to jump for the review. It is so easy to get sucked into these books. I love how everything linked up and all of the action and twists and turns. This is a great story and although part of a series you will not have a hard time figuring out what is happening. I cannot wait to get my hands on this whole series. I received A Face to Die For from Partners in Crime Virtual Book Tours for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

Two women. Twins. Sharing the same face. They didn’t know each other existed. You may have read something along similar lines, or seen a movie like it. But the author adds her own twist and it’s a doozy. It’s always a good sign when I connect with a character quickly. This happened more than once as each entered the story. I’m always drawn to character driven stories and a good thriller and I had high hopes for this book. The author delivered and it was a page turner. Once you get to the part about the two sisters finding each other and realizing they’re twins, you think most of the surprises are over. Not so. There’s another huge one that ramps up the thrills. And it gets more suspenseful as they get closer to the truth about themselves and why they were separated. Weird things happen and the sisters know they can’t handle this by themselves. Enter the team from Forensic Instincts. I first encountered the team in the fifth book in this series and it was fun to meet some of them again. And don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous books. They can stand on their own. Why were they kept secret from each other? Who is behind it? How far will they go to keep them apart? I couldn’t wait to find out. A Face To Die For is such a great title for this book and it’s a white knuckle read that will keep your teeth clenched as you’re swept into a whirlwind of murder and suspense.
