About the Author

Mary Campisi writes emotion-packed books about second chances. Whether contemporary romances, women's fiction, or Regency historicals, her books all center on belief in the beauty of that second chance. Her small town romances center around family life, friendship, and forgiveness as they explore the issues of today’s contemporary women.

Mary should have known she'd become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the ending to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs, including registered nurse, receptionist in a swanky hair salon, accounts payable clerk, and practice manager in an OB/GYN office, for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes.

When she's not working on her craft or following the lives of five young adult children, Mary's digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab mix, Cooper, or, on the perfect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own hero/husband on his Harley Ultra Limited.

What a great story of love, family, redemption, and second chances. I love the town of Magdalena and all it's people. It's a place where everyone looks out for one another. Makes you want to live there. Everyone makes mistakes, like Ben did, but you don't always get the chance to make things right again. Mary's stories of forgiveness and second chances really make you think. I thorough,y love this series. I'm already looking forward to The Proposal.

She had me at the dedication! I am a dog lover. I mean, I cannot resist big brown eyes and wagging tails. In my married life, my husband and I have adopted 10 adorable canines of all breeds from shelters. To date, we have lost seven of our children. To read the emotional dedication at the beginning of this wonderful book clutched at my heart. The story is true Mary Campisi. There is something magical when you read about Magdalena, New York. A peace comes through in Mary’s words. This time Mary tells the story of Ben Reed, a cop, injured in an ordinary home accident instead of chasing bad guys out on the streets. Even his physical therapist wife, Gina, could not reach him and help him recuperate. So, Gina in desperation reaches out to the new blonde physical therapist at the hospital to do what she couldn’t – help Ben. Little did she know she was inviting the Devil of Deception and Evil instead of the Angel of Hope and Healing into her own home and marriage. But, the people of Magdalena rally to protect two of their own as always. In the secondary story, reformed Bad Boy Harry Blacksworth rescues a mangy, skin-and bones stray with big brown soulful eyes from the side of the road. Who knew that Harry had just met his best friend who he named Cooper (named after Mary’s own Cooper who passed earlier this year)? Such a touching storyline. Read it! You will love it! I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest review of this book.
