Tom's 8th book is titled, A Few Loose Chapters, because that's exactly what it is. Extra chapters that didn't fit into any of the prior 7 books of essays. Published in 2002 it was a great success and full of surprises that only the Colonel can come up with. Here is how the Colonel describes A Few Loose Chapters. "What you have in this book are islands, loosely connected to the same kingdom, but islands all the same. Islands, if you choose, that can be explored singly. You can start at the front and go through to the back. You can stat at the back and come forward to the beginning. You can start in the middle and go either way. Feel free. Like we tend to say in backwoods Alabama, "Pick your choice."

About the Author

Thomas Henry Kelly Jr. was born in Mobile, Alabama on May 15th 1927. He was a 1949 graduate of the Forestry School at Auburn University. Tom served in the U.S. Navy 1944-1946 aerial gunner, the U.S. Army 1951-1952 artillery officer-Battalion commander, retiring as a Lt Colonel. He is married to his wife of 64 years, Helen. They have one daughter, Laura, and twin grand children. Tom and Helen live in Spanish Fort, Alabama
