The entire book our hero lauded our heroines strength and zest for life. Yet, she had one major crying episode per chapter and tears streaming down her face every other page! First it was annoying, then laughable, and then just nauseating.

I loved the characters in this book especially Gram. My only complaint is that it was too short and the stories were not developed enough. We didn't get a chance to get to know Malcolm so how could we understand and dislike his behavior. Whar about Alex. Why did he come to Scotland? Too many questions. But still I loved it.

I absolutely loved this book, but then how could I not? Scottish, kilt-wearing shapeshifters? Sign me up! This book was a lot of fun to read. I liked Paisley immediately and loved her Grandmother even more. I hope I am that direct when I get to be that age. She was priceless. Creighton was an exceptional hero and I really liked that he made no bones about his determination to win Paisley for his own. Paisley’s gift of telepathic communication with animals was both interesting and intriguing. I thought the author did an excellent job of describing the good side but also the problem having a gift has been for Paisley. The author does an excellent job of creating a setting so vibrant that the reader gets a sense of being in the story. Getting to know all the supporting characters that made up Creighton’s family was enjoyable too. I am happy to report that you can get more of the Matheson family where Creighton’s brothers, Bryce and Ronan, get their own books. I will definitely be looking for them. My Final Verdict: This book has it all and is a hit for me. Whatever your reading tastes run to, be it action, romance, paranormal elements, kilts, this book is highly recommended.

No, not as good as Shelly L, but not terrible either. Author seemed to be looking for excuses to create drama btw the lead characters, as a way to add tension to the story, I assume. The persistant trivial-details-provokes-serious- emotional-upset got annoying after awhile. Story plot was good & overall enjoyed the book, the world & the little bit of mystery as the hero works to overcome the bad guy. Author needs to work on how to build tension btw the main characters, though.

The writing is terrible! The heroine is so immature. It reads like a 16 year old girl writing her fantasies in her diary. So bad I could not finish no matter how hard I tried to get past all crap. Scenes are repeated over and over and usually has the main characters fornicating, about to forni cate or thinking about it and that was so poorly written I could barely read it and had to skip most of it, lame, lame, lame!!!!

I did enjoy this book. I had everything you could as for in a paranormal romance including shape-shifting bears, a few friendly ghosts, drug dealers, and a lot of that wonderful Scottish brogue. The introductions of Laird Creighton Masterson, and his brothers Ronan and Bryce. Paisley Munro arriving from the US with her Grandmother, Effie were well written and made you want to immediately get to know them. This book delivered more than I expected and was thoroughly enjoyable. I could have done without the graphic words dispersed throughout the book. That isn’t my thing, but all in all, it was a good book, excellently written

The absolute best thing about this story is the way the author handles all things Scottish. After that, the story is sound, the characters charming, and the paranormal helped along the plot. My only complaint was that the heroine protested once too many times. This is an author to keep an eye on.

This is a great romance. It has everything from passion, to laughter to suspense. The characters are bright, lively and well defined. A story to cherish and an author to applaud. The best one yet!

4.5 - Beloved Stars! I absolutely loved this book. I didn't have massive expectations going in, I was just looking to be entertained for a few hours. I love a man in a kilt and a gravelly Scottish burr, hits me right in the knicker elastic, and it was pinging all over the place with this Highland treat. Add into the mix Shape-shifting bears, a few friendly ghosts, a lot of giggling and a little sniffle, and I fell in love with Laird Creighton Masterson, and his brothers Ronan and Bryce. Paisley Munro arriving from the US with her Grandmother, Effie is just the woman to tame the ornery, demanding and swooningly sweet Laird. "I was scared of you before, but I'm not now." A Highlander's Obsession delivered a whole lot more than I was expecting, and although the first book in the Highlanders Beloved series it offered a lot of openings and introductions whilst still keeping Creigh and Paisley at its focal point. I love Scotland, although the Scotland in this book is the Scotland I wish I had visited previously, I'd kinda like my own kilt wearing Laird to curl up with on cold nights the next time I travel to the Highlands! "We'll make a Scot of ye yet."

What a fun read! The sparks fly off Paisley Munroe and Creighton Matheson right from the get go and the cast of supporting characters are more than strong enough to carry their weight! Paisley's Gram is a big-hearted free spirit with a level of sass that's keep you laughing. Paisley and Creighton's struggle to bridge the gaps between their cultures and themselves keeps you turning pages. Enjoy! I know I did.

OMG...I read this book into the night, I am on hold for the next book...Creighton is the biggest Dream Come True for any girl. When you can talk with the animals and have a Gram that helps with a smart mouth and little majic and then get a Bear Shape shifter who adores you for all of you good and bad (and in my case the flashes of temper from lack of self confidence ) then your world is complete. The way Ms. Davis writes the Scottish brogue I heard it in my head as the players spoke. Love this book, can't wait for the next.
