A Marty Denton Poetry Collection: Read Between the Lines

"I am not trying to change your mind. I am exercising the right to express mine."

A Writer's Night
Marty Denton
I saw the sun as it set, I saw the sun begin to rise
Looking out the windows of these tired old writer's eyes
Sometimes youth returns with its vigor and joy
I feel the spring of my youth and the hopes of a young boy

Writing through the night losing track of all time
Totally immersed in the words that always seen to rhyme
Pushing harder to keep up I feel the sunrises's time is near
Completion of another song from a memory that is so dear

Sharing all my dreams as I lean on that old trusty pen
Smiling all the way as I remember once again
Faces, laughter, and pure love that comes from within
Once again I saw the sunset to where the morning always begin

About the Author

I started writing at the age of ten. Most of my life has been devoted to writing music. I have a record label named Trip Jct. Records. My music is available on itunes, amazon, rhapsody, emusic, etc. I am enjoying writing stories now and have started a new series "The Mouse and the Cricket", a children's story. It will be available in an animated cartoon soon.
