A Mommy For Christmas by Maggie Shayne

Originally released in 2005 and titled, Feels Like Home, A MOMMY FOR CHRISTMAS has been substantially revised and contains brand new scenes never before published.

A heartwarming, tear-inducing, holiday miracle kind of story you'll never forget...

All Tyler wants for Christmas is a Mommy.
Not to walk without his crutches, or to skip his next surgery. Just a mommy.

His father, Chicago Cop Jimmy Corona is determined to find him one in his hometown of Big Falls Oklahoma. But trouble follows him there, trouble that could get them both killed.

Once shy and awkward, Kara Brand has blossomed into a graceful beauty with the biggest heart in the state of Oklahoma. Jimmy thinks she's the perfect mommy-candidate, and she falls in love with little Ty at first sight.

Jimmy plans to win her and wed her, not to love her. But he never intended for her to get caught in between a murderous criminal and his little boy.

Completely adorable. Another winner from Maggie! Even though this is not in my preferred genres I loved the story line, and it was a fairly quick read. Love happy endings? Love the tough guy with the soft core? Love finding the heroine who can save him? This will fit all those bills!

Short, easy read for a gloomy day. Maggie Shane delivers a touching, happy story. The characters pull you in to the real meaning of Christmas.

So corny and far retched. Does really noone have any common sense???? The boy is a sweetie but OMG everyone is written like they are idiots. The drug addict comes to the house and the ex is really that clueless to trust her bs??? Poorly written and very cheesy.

The best story of the series. Not so perfect and rich people. Better plot. A few spelling typos.

Jimmy Corona¿s ex wife is a drug addict, who signed away custody of their son when he was a month old, after she injured his legs when she fell down the stairs with him. Jimmy has decided Tyler needs a mother so he cold bloodedly sets out to find a wife. His plan is a loveless, sexless marriage which will end in a divorce when Tyler reaches 18. He doesn¿t intend to let the woman in on his plans until after they are married. He returns to his hometown and runs into Kara Brand who has turned into a beautiful woman that his son Tyler immediately adores. When he finds out Kara has loved him since high school he figures he won¿t have any trouble trapping her by pretending to love her, using Tyler as the final bait. Jimmy is a conscientless user. If he loves his son so much why would he give him the example that marriage means nothing with one-sided love and based on lies. Jimmy is going to stand up in front of God and say vows he has no intention of keeping. ¿Love (doesn¿t figure into the picture for him), honor (what he¿s doing is very dishonorable), cherish (he doesn¿t care), faithful only to each other (I can¿t imagine a 30 year old man going without sex for 15 years so he will cheat) till death do us part (or until Tyler is grown, whichever comes first)¿ And Kara, though she knows something is not right, has so little pride and is such a naive, wimpy girl (girl fits because she¿s childish) that she lets Jimmy use her. Frankly they were both disgusting! Oh and the sex scenes which Maggie Shayne can really write? There weren¿t any. Also as others pointed out the cover is not at all representative of the story. If you are reading the whole Oklahoma and Texas Brand series you might want to read this one. Otherwise give it a wide berth.
