A New Perspective by Lisa Groves

American Alyssa Kauffmann is offered a job in London, miles away from her family, friends and her difficult past. Her wealthy and loveable, but meddling, client thinks she would be perfect for her son, Colin Dashwood.

Attraction is instantaneous and feelings are abound but how realistic can love be when you're separated by miles?

Alyssa fluffed her auburn curls unnecessarily before emerging into what she assumed was the empty hallway but found herself colliding with a firm wall of man instead. She swayed backward from the unexpected impact but he quickly reached out to steady her at the waist.

"Oh sh**! Sorry." She exclaimed in surprise, forgetting her manners for a moment. "I said sh**. Sorry. Sh**. I did it again. Umm..."

The man laughed as he listened to her cast around for a way out, quite enjoying her embarrassment.

Alyssa felt as if someone had cut off her air supply as she noticed that his hands on her waist seemed to burning a hole through her gown.

She then couldn't help but observe how incredibly tall he was. Being very tall herself, she found the top of her head didn't reach his shoulders even in her heels.

He must be at least 6'5", she estimated as she continued her inspection.

When her eyes finally met his she felt her knees weaken and was grateful that he still was steadying her because she was sure she would have sunk to the floor. His eyes were the most brilliant shade of golden brown and had a smoldering intensity that left her in no doubt as to why she was breathless.

Broad shouldered and powerfully built, he was easily one of most handsome men she had ever seen and he seemed to fill out a tuxedo better than anyone she knew.

"Are you alright?" He asked with concern in a distantly familiar voice.

"I'm fine. Just a little embarrassed is all. Thank you." She said recovering her professional composure.

"Don't be. Everyone needs to have a good fu***** swearing session now and then." He teased as he released his hold on her.

She looked at him in shock before taking a step backwards and smiling. "Yes. They do."

He returned her smile and she was presented with one of the most charming smiles she'd ever had given to her.

Even white teeth and dimples for Christ's sake, she thought.
