Overview

Can you read just one? From award-winning author, Anna Sugden, comes a mouthwatering selection of five holiday-themed, bite-sized romances featuring players from her popular hockey romance series, The New Jersey Ice Cats.

A Perfect Tribute (Memorial Day)

Never forget

For wounded military veteran, Naomi Como, Memorial Day is about more than barbecues and beer. She's all for celebrating life and freedom, but she wants to mourn her fallen friends her own way. Can a hot hockey player convince her that living her life to the full is the perfect tribute to those she's lost.

A Perfect Pumpkin (Halloween)

No tricks—just a treat!

When sports' journalist, Frankie Ellerton, agrees to help her sister at the pumpkin festival, the last person she expects to see is the sexy hockey player with whom she had a one-night-stand. Ice Cats' forward, Logan Halliday, knows the Stanely Cup celebration he shared with Frankie was special, but she insists their relationship must now be strictly business. With his niece as chaperone, maybe he can carve more than the perfect jock o'lantern—a fresh start with Frankie.

A Perfect Favor (Thanksgiving)

Lights, Camera . . . Turkey!

Cooper 'Coop' Johansen doesn't expect his fresh start with his new team to entail being Mr. November for the Ice Cats' charity calendar. Food photographer Becca Emory's Thanksgiving shoot could win her a contract that will stabilise her business. But her best friend's in a jam and needs her to produce a calendar page for the Ice Cats asap. Combining the jobs should be a piece of cake. After all, how much trouble can a shirtless hockey player and three kittens be?

A Perfect Gift (Valentine's Day)

Found: A heart in need of love

When Ice Cats' forward, Tom Adamson, finds a forlorn, vintage sweetheart pin cushion at a Manhattan flea market, he doesn't expect to have to battle lovely antiques' collector, Karly Jacobs, for it. The decorated sawdust heart will make the perfect present for his grandmother. But could a change of plan make it a perfect Valentine's gift instead?

A Perfect Rescue (New Year's Eve)

Be careful what you wish for

New Year's Eve hasn't been kind to Ice Cats' forward, Nate Gallison. This year, he's responsible for the team's loss. All he wants is a quiet night. But when a sexy brunette in a red dress needs help escaping from the date from hell, he wonders if a little festive hide-and-seek can lead to a magical midnight for them both?

About the Author

I’ve always loved happy endings. Even as a child, whether it was Laura Ingalls and Almanzo Wilder or Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe, I wanted to see the stories end happily. If I didn’t like the ending of a book, TV programme or film, I’d make up my own alternative version. Naturally, when I discovered romance novels through Mills & Boon, I was in heaven! I dreamed that one day I would be a romance writer.

But it took a long time for that to happen. In fact, writing is my third career – I worked in global marketing for a major multinational, looking after some familiar household names like Dettol and Lemsip. Then, I requalified to become a primary teacher.

When my husband’s firm posted him to New Jersey – and my US work permit hit a major snag due to the post-9-11 clampdown – I got the chance to turn my writing hobby into something more serious. A romance writing course through the Gotham Writers’ Workshop led to the discovery of eharlequin.com, Romance Writers of America and my local New Jersey Romance Writers chapter. My first book—A Perfect Distraction—sold to Harlequin SuperRomance in 2012, launching the best-selling, award-winning New Jersey Ice Cats series.

Now back in England, my lovely husband and I share our Cambridge home with two bossy black cats, Jersey Girl and CC. When I’m not writing, I’m an avid sports fan – especially hockey (Go NJ Devils! Go Metropolitan Riveters!) and football, both English and American (Go Man Utd! Go Exeter! Go Washington Redskins!) – where I prefer a happy ending for my teams! When not researching hockey players (for my books, of course), I love making small craft projects and collecting memorabilia, penguins, opals and shoes!
