A robbery is what forces a first meet between art gallery employee, Chelsea, and cop, Sam. The attraction is instantaneous, but the mystery and danger make it difficult for an easy romance to develop.  James always writes characters that are likable and situations that are gentle and sweet, even in the midst of theft and suspense. Sam is moving on from a tragic past, yet he's very stable, brave, and kind. I love how he works so hard to uncover the roots of the situation, even going as far as sacrificing his own desires. Chelsea is very dedicated to her career and hopes to advance, but she's a very nice girl and friendly to everyone. She doesn't suspect a soul when questioned, which shows how positively she thinks of those around her. The word I'm going to use to describe this story overall is: gentle. The mystery is gentle, without any heart-pounding drama; the romance is gentle--sweet, but not overly dynamic chemistry and drama; the characters are gentle--the kind you want for neighbors. This is a perfect read to escape and enjoy your time spent in small town Camden Falls and it's exactly the kind of book that I was in the mood for. Content: mild romance; very mild violence; mild language. *I received a copy, which didn't influence my opinion in any way.*

Delectably mysterious! We find ourselves in the middle of a crime scene quickly in the latest from Kate James, and the air of mystery only intensifies when strange happenings occur in the neighboring business as well. I really enjoyed the intrigue of trying to play a guessing game with ourselves of who the guilty party was ... the romance fell a little flat though. Overall a solid read! When Chelsea Owens barged into the middle of a crime scene, she never expects to meet the man of her dreams! Arriving to work at the art gallery, she notices police activity at her elderly friend's jewelry store next door and dashes in to offer them comfort, crossing paths with the lead detective. Detective Sam Eldridge would normally be irritated with a civilian crashing into his case, but he can't deny an instant attraction to the feisty lady determined to stand by her friends. As his investigation starts to unravel, there seems to be more going on in this neighborhood than they expected at first glance. Between a destructive break-in, forged paintings, and the possibility of breaking the art theft of a lifetime, Sam is going to be busy! He tries to push his attraction to the wayside while the case is pending, but she's not an easy one to get off his mind!

When spontaneous but compassionate Chelsea Owens bursts into the middle of a crime scene, Detective Sam Eldridge is suspicious. For about five minutes. The intelligent, outgoing woman interests him in a way no one has in a long time, but he has more pressing matters to attend to. There’s something unusual happening in Camden Falls, and too few leads to follow in his opinion. First a break-in at a jewelry store followed by a forgery at the art gallery. What is going on? And how are the two connected? Sam and Chelsea aren’t the most perfect match on paper. She loves people, he prefers peace and quiet. She’s enthusiastic about art, his tastes run toward the simplistic. Most importantly, Chelsea has dreams Sam can’t give her. But sometimes the heart doesn’t care about the hard facts, and that’s one of the things that makes A Priceless Find so enjoyable. That and the way Kate James keeps readers guessing as to who is behind the crimes while leading all on a merry chase—complete with a suspicious warehouse and ties to twenty-five-year-old unsolved art heist. Another wonderful read from Kate James (and I hope to visit Camden Falls again in future books) ***I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including NetGalley. Chelsea and Sam meet when they are both at work. Sam is a police officer and Chelsea is present at the scene of a robbery just after it happened. Not much later there's a problem with the authenticity of a painting at the gallery she works for. They're attracted to one another, but because of Sam's job and the ongoing investigations it isn't wise for him to go out with Chelsea. Will he be able to stay away though? Chelsea tries to help Sam with his cases. She keeps her eyes and ears open and isn't afraid to snoop when the situation requires it. Will they eventually manage to uncover the truth behind both the robbery and the forgery? While spending so much time together they inevitably get to know each other better, do they have a chance even if the circumstances are far from ideal? A Priceless Find is a gripping romantic story. Chelsea is smart and capable. I liked her fierceness and the fact that she follows her instincts. She can be impulsive and I liked her spirit. Sam is serious. He's been through a lot and it isn't easy for him to open up to someone, but Chelsea's disarming personality manages to do the trick. They're wonderful together and I really enjoyed reading about the developments in both their relationship and the investigation. Kate James has written a fabulous story about beautiful art and complicated schemes. I couldn't wait to find out who was behind the robbery and the forgery. Of course I had my suspicions and it was fun to find out if I was right. Kate James's writing style is warm and welcoming. She combines this with a thrilling case, which made it impossible for me to put A Priceless Find down. I absolutely loved this fabulous story.
