From acclaimed author Alyssa Cole comes the tale of a city Cinderella and her Prince Charming in disguise . . .

Between grad school and multiple jobs, Naledi Smith doesn’t have time for fairy tales…or patience for the constant e-mails claiming she’s betrothed to an African prince. Sure. Right. Delete! As a former foster kid, she’s learned that the only things she can depend on are herself and the scientific method, and a silly e-mail won’t convince her otherwise.

Prince Thabiso is the sole heir to the throne of Thesolo, shouldering the hopes of his parents and his people. At the top of their list? His marriage. Ever dutiful, he tracks down his missing betrothed. When Naledi mistakes the prince for a pauper, Thabiso can’t resist the chance to experience life—and love—without the burden of his crown.

The chemistry between them is instant and irresistible, and flirty friendship quickly evolves into passionate nights. But when the truth is revealed, can a princess in theory become a princess ever after?

This is the first book I have read by author Alyssa Cole, but it is not the last one for sure. As soon as I started reading this book I knew this was an author that i would be one clinking for years to come. Her gift of storytelling had pulled me in and had me looking to see if the country of Thesolo was a real place in Africa. The characters Naledi & Thabiso are so real it is almost like they themselves are plucked out of the city and right into this pages of this book. The story line is believable and the romance is there. The side character of Portia is someone I wanted to shake to wake her up and then by the end of the book I am so searching for her book to read. I am so happy I found this author in the middle of Romancelandia on twitter.

I loved it

What a wonderful story! When Naledi got emails saying she's betrothed to an African prince, she deleted them assuming they were spam. But they weren't! Naledi was a strong woman who'd had a rough life in America so she was completely out of her depth when she was thrown into the world of royals in another country. I loved the Prince. Everyone thought he had a perfect, easy life, but a prince had a lot more work to do than most people knew about. I liked that he was just a man who wanted to be loved for himself, not his title. I felt sorry for him because even though he had many women wanting to be his princess, all they really wanted was the position. I LOVED this book! It was fun, heart-warming and sexy. If you like fairy tale type romances, I highly recommend this one.

Ledi is a struggling Grad Student. Who, as of late, has been receiving these strange emails about an African Country she had never heard of. Thabiso, is soon to be King of Thesolo, and is in need of a wife. He has come to New York to find the girl who was betrothed to him when they were children. I really enjoyed this twist on a fairy tale. The writing was fresh. The characters were well developed and interesting. The ending came a little too fast, but otherwise, Ms. Cole wrote a wonderful story.
