Overview

New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Rowe delivers another winner when a marriage of convenience is the only way for a rugged cowboy to protect the unborn baby of his late best friend.

"OH. MY. GOSH! This was the best book I've read in a really, really long time." ~jenny7 (Amazon Review)

Mira Cabot has always wanted a family, and now she has the chance...but being on the run while she's pregnant, broke, and single wasn't exactly how she'd envisioned it. When a distractingly handsome cowboy offers her a marriage of convenience, it's the lifeline she needs...and one that no modern-day woman would ever accept...right?

Rancher Chase Stockton trusts no one except his brothers and his late best friend...who left behind a baby on the way. Chase knows who will come after that baby, and the only way he can protect it is to give the child...and its mother...his name.

When Mira arrives in Wyoming to be the bride of a cowboy she's met only once, neither of them expect to find the love that has always eluded them...the love they both so desperately yearn for.

"Wow! This book was fantastic!" ~Cindy F (Amazon Review)

Having money does make the man. In this storyline fathers treated their sons with abuse and that abuse tainted their lives. The story's focus was getting acquainted to the cowboy fsmily. It is not a cliffhanger.

This was my first Stephanie Rowe novel but it sure won't be my last!! Warning however....you'll want to have some hankies on hand. Ms. Rowe wrings every ounce of emotion from her strongly written heroes. This is a wonderful tale of healing and romance. Absolutely loved it!

## SO-SO. This book never reached its potential. It could've been so good. I get it. These men are damaged. Their FATHER abused them regularly, yet they hate WOMEN. Because their step mothers weren't great? Who ever likes their step moms? The wrath these brothers bring down on Mira just for existing was ridiculous. And Chase changed his mind, what? 17 times? Jeez, talk about indecisive! What a wuss. The brothers are pissed because they want him to keep the ranch [which incidentally belongs to Chase] woman free INCASE they decide ever to show up? They haven't shown up in 5 years! Pffft. Absolutely absurd. And I cringed when the heroine asks the hero if he loves her desperately after 3 weeks when the whole thing started as a business deal. Of course he said no. It's been THREE WEEKS. Stay, go, stay, go.....it drove me insane. I won't be buying the others in this series.

Powerful. A tear jerker in a good way. Not sad tears, but emotional ones. I loved this story and am so looking forward to the next in the series. Strong men with deep emotional scars that only a strong woman can help them heal. Mira Cabot and Chase Stockton have know each other for ten years but never actually met. It was their best friend that they had in common. Now that AJ is gone and his powerful father is a threat to Mira, Chase puts Mira under his protection. His instinct says it's the right thing to do. Chase's brothers won't understand, but Chase can't seem to resist her and it feels so right to have her in his arms. An emotional, heart touching romance.

I enjoy Stephanie Rowe's books. I really liked this one as part of a series about the Stockton brothers..cowboys all...almost. There are some lovely twists and turns that Rowe builds into the story so subtly you don't know they are coming until they are there but you realize that the twist or turn wasn't unexpected..just unnoticed. And the conflict between hero and heroine has everything to do with family and trust. Lovely, satisfying, closing scene and resolution. Looking forward to reading more in the series.

Extremely fun, sweetly sexy, emotionally engaging, passion filled romantic adventure that includes a surprise baby twist.. Chase Stockton and his brother have an unshakeable bond formed by surviving a their brutal childhood together. Mira Cabot is a sassy, strong and independent woman that never asks for help, until now. The question is will Chase's need to protect Mira be the one thing that shakes the bond between him and his brothers? Enjoyed this heart pounding and exciting journey.

This is my first book by Stephanie Rowe and I really enjoyed her writing. This was well written and the characters were mature. It's a good story, but I did have a hard time with the constant back and forth between the main characters. Both Mira and Chase have been let down by the opposite sex their whole lives except for one person. Their mutual best friend who recently died and brought them together. Chase and his brothers have been treated horribly by every woman that came into their dad's life. The more the women that treated his father bad, the worse he then treated his sons. It was a vicious cycle that Chase swore he would never repeat for himself. Despite never wanting to get involved with a woman, he couldn't leave Mira at the mercy of his best friends dad knowing he was just as abusive as his own. Mira has had to witness her best friend get constantly abused by his father growing up. Her family stepped in when they could to help him until one fateful car accident stole her fathers life and put her mother in critical care for the remainder of her days. Because of Mira having to quit school to go home and take care of her mom, her fiance at the time dumped her. Years later with her mom passed away and her best friend following not long after, she no longer has faith in men. When Chase offers her protection against her best friends dad, she's not in a place to turn him down. Because of these two fighting their own demons, they are constantly battling their attraction to each other and afraid to open themselves up to the possible hurt. I wish we could have gotten less of the pushing away and more of them exploring their new relationship. However, I was very happy with the ending. This book will appeal to the readers who love that push/pull relationship. ARC provided by NetGalley

I really enjoyed reading about Chase and Mira's relationship. The things Chase and his brothers (8 of them, so that means 9 stories about the wonderful brothers*) went through with their abusive Dad and some of their stepmothers, awful. I thought this would just be an okay type of book, but found I was wrong. This book held my attention to the end. In reading the story, it evolves to show that just because someone was reared in an abusive household do not mean the person will become an abuser. All of the brothers sre protectors (I read the cliff notes), my only wish is that I could purchase a boxed set now instead of waiting until December (I checked on Amazon).*There is also a book about their friend, the Sheriff who is mentioned in Chase and Mira's story and the brothers also have a half sister. Sorry, I got off track...this is a good bookm very enjoyable storyline about Brothers dealing with their childhood and the women who loved them and show them that they are worth loving. I cannot wait for the boxed set, I have to read about brother #2, then make myself wait for all the books to be published so I can bing read about these guys. HEA ending to a great storyline. Happy Reading! ******vrnb*****
