It's not all light and airy like the holiday romances we are used to seeing. In my opinion, this one was a lot more realistic. Sure, our main characters develop a quick attraction to each other. They slowly build up a friendship that develops into stronger feelings. The way that Brent responds to Maia's toddler son is amazing (and vice versa). But there are greater issues going on here. Brent suffers from depression, and it has a tendency to rear its ugly head. …I loved watching them both grow throughout the story.
