About the Author

I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, home of Chickamauga Battlefield, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the beautiful Tennessee Aquarium.  After graduating from high school in 1973, I headed to southwestern Virginia for undergrad.  My alma mater, Emory and Henry College, is a small liberal arts institution that enjoys an excellent reputation for quality academics and affordability.

Between my sophomore and junior years, I married my high school sweetheart.  We graduated together in 1977.  I later earned a Masters in Reading and Story Arts from East Tennessee State University.

For 15 years I taught kindergarten and second grade near Knoxville, TN, in the foothills of the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains.  In the fall of 2002, I left the classroom to write full-time.

What a fantastic holiday Happily, Inc. short story. It's a little different twist on the usual princess type stories, which I think would make it a great candidate to be a holiday movie. There's love, laughter, friends and family all rolled into a quick read that gets you in the spirit of the season. Looking forward to the next book in Susan Mallery's delightful series.

Cute, nothing really unexpected. Only 100 pages, so a quick read.

Cute story of a princess working as a stable girl. How she wants to be normal and be able to know people like her for herself and not because she is a princess. Can she find true happiness? Susan has written another wonderful story. joy943

I usually don’t like novellas because I always want more in the story but this was just right. Princess Bethany known as Beth Smith delivers an Arabian stallion to Cade Saunders. The rest is history.

I loved the story blending the two series of The Desert Sheiks and Happily Inc. what a fun light hearted read.

Somewhat predictable but strong characters and a tie to the "Happily, Inc." novels. Short novella.

Short story, yes but still highly recommended! This is a heartwarming story of a young woman who has been betrayed by those she loved and trusted. Betrayed because she was a princess and the betrayers could gain 15-minutes of fame and some money. Wanting to be 'normal' and gaining the respect of other workers she insisted on starting on the bottom rung of the ladder in her adopted father's stables even though he was the king and she a princess. When her father sold her favorite horse she insisted on traveling to America with it to be sure the new owner would treat it right. There she found more than she expected. While those who have read many books will agree the ending was expected what I did find was the excellence in the writing. It was a pleasure reading this well written book. I will look forward to reading more of her works.

While I prefer Susan's longer stories this one was great as well. It is really neat to read a sort of follow up story. Bethany is a great heroine alongside Cade, her hunky hero. My only complaint is that it ended too soon. But then again, I never want her books to end.

A Very Merry Princess by Susan Mallery Princess Bethany decides to go to America to deliver the horse that had been sold to Cade Sanders. She goes under the name Beth Archer and she falls in love with Cade. She can not figure out a way to tell him about the princess part and he gets upset with her when he finds out. It was a really good book. I really enjoyed being able to revisit past characters but book is also written so well that you don't need to have read the other book to follow. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fast read for the holidays.
