A series of views on life taken from early morning chats with the irascible 'Neighbour Jim'. A gentle poke at the worlds absurdities while offering up solutions that only a true hayseed could devise whilst dishing up a healthy portion of disdain for authority and the nonsense that goes with officialdom. There's surprising dips into physics and astronomy along side observations on tractor sizes, fly tipping, the NHS, scones, fifty shades of hay and the heartbreaking 'Life of Patch'. Often amusing, sometimes informative, occasionally sad.

About the Author

A true countryman born and bred; a quiet 'old soul' the author has spent his life walking his beloved river and moor, completely at home 'in the middle of nowhere' fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the natural world. A lifetime of observation and the changing ways of the countryside, sometimes not for the better, prompted a series of blogs which have been turned into 'A View from the Sticks' the first in a planned series.

The second book with the working title 'A Move to the Sticks' is currently in progress.
