Abducted in the middle of the night, ten-year-old Ashley Gibson needs a saviour. Small town detective, Tony Petrocelli, must find her before it's too late. To achieve his goal he must break solemn promises, violate his own code of ethics, and bend the law. Despite a troubled marriage, an uncooperative police chief, and a talented but flawed partner he must work though false leads and a media frenzy in a race against time to rescue Ashley. Detective Petrocelli has one important ally - the victim. Ashley uses her wits and experience with her controlling, and sometimes cruel, father to manipulate her captor and keep herself alive long enough for help to arrive.

About the Author

An avid reader since childhood, Bob White began writing during his high school years. He sold his first short story at nineteen, and has been writing ever since. After college and graduate studies Bob spent his earlier years in Christian ministry and mortgage banking. Writing, however, was never far away, resulting in more short stories, and a non-fiction book.
After his children were grown Bob began working at novel writing. Reading, however, was never far away. He devoured detective stories by John McDonald, Sue Grafton, John Kellerman, Robert B. Parker, Mickey Spillane, and of course the master of the police procedural, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is the author of four published novels.
