In 1819, Maddy Woodford struggles with keeping the roof over her head and that of her five younger half-siblings she is raising; especially demanding is her odious landlord. Maddy observes an obvious gentleman riding his horse, but when the man and his steed make a leap from a muddy surface, he is knocked out. She brings him to her home to help him heal. When Nash Renfrew regains consciousness, he suffers from amnesia. As he slowly recuperates and begins to regain bits and pieces of his memory, Nash also is attracted to his nurse. A gentleman even with limited recall, Nash offers to marry her so she will not become a scandalized pariah and to thwart her nasty landlord. However, as they fall in love, he remembers who he is; a career diplomat cannot wed a country bumpkin. Although amnesia has been used as a matchmaking plot device in historicals many times (see Kiss to Remember by Teresa Medeiros and Lost in Your Arms by Christina Dodd), the lead couple and her siblings bring freshness to the storyline. Readers will like Maddy and Nash while hissing at the sinister landlord. Regency romance fans will want to read The Accidental Wedding, a warm historical. Harriet Klausner

I have started and stopped a lot of books recently. They just didn't hold my interest. I had a hard time putting this one down it was so good. Finally! This is the 4th book in a series but definitely stands alone. I think it is the best one so far. The H & H are very likeable and the storyline is interesting. The other characters are written well and fun to get to know. Looking forward to Luke's story next.

THE ACCIDENTAL WEDDING by Anne Gracie is a wonderful historical romance set in 1819 Bath, England. It is well written with depth, details, is fast paced, full of twist, turns and a page turner. It has romance, sensuality, danger, passion, love, action pack, has wit, five adorable children, a caring woman, a strong caring man, and obnoxious supposing landlord and a lost of family. The hero, Nash, is handsome, strong, a career diplomat, ready to marry, looking for a biddable woman with good pedigree, does not want to marry for love and is falling in love with the beautiful not so biddable Maddy. The heroine, Maddy, is beautiful, strong willed, determination, caring for her five half siblings, trying to manage on merger provisions, she grows her own vegetables, attends to her beehives, making hats for the ladies of the village and has a demanding landlord or so she thinks. Nash has a trouble fall in front of Maddy, while it is snowing. She takes him into her meager cottage, which is on his just acquired property. Nash loses his memory, does not know who he is or where he is from. Maddy nurses him back to health, while trying not to fall in love with him. Nash is attracted to Maddy in a way he has never been attracted to another women. Maddy knowing if anyone finds out Nash is awake and still in her home will compromise her good name. Maddy's youngest sibling. Lucy, is adorable, witty and will pull at your heart strings. Lucy decides Nash needs a princess to wake him up so she kisses him and he soon wakes up. What happens next is a lesson in fairy tales do come true. Although, Maddy and Nash fight their attraction of each other in the end true love always wins. I would recommend this book especially if you enjoy a good Regency romance,a caring role model and finding your true love. This book was received from the publisher and details can be found at Berkley Sensation, a division of Penguin Group and My Book Addiction and More.

This book is part of Anne Gracie¿s Devil Riders series. In it, she brings to life a wonderful story of two people who are product of their upbringing. Maddy Woodford is a respectable, single and hard-working young woman who lives in a tiny run down cottage raising her five younger half-siblings. Her life is made difficult by a father that left them destitute, an Estate Manager that threatens their home and livelihood, as well as a mysterious ghost that haunts them at night. To complicate matters more, she now saves a life of a stranger who gets thrown from his horse in front of her cottage. While she tends to his injuries, and upon learning that he¿s lost his memory, she tries her best not to get too close to him, but living in cramped quarters and during long cold nights, she inevitably falls in love with him. She does wonder, what will happen when her ¿dream¿ man remembers who he is¿Nash Renfrew, our wonderful hero has been brought up in a strict Aristocratic home with not one iota of affection from either his parents or servants. His only source of any kind of love came from his brother Marcus, much too snobby Earl. He is a diplomat with love of adventure that his job provides. He returns to England from his latest post in Russia to do two things: a) check on an estate he has inherited from his uncle, Sir Jasper Brownrigg and b) to find a suitable bride; one of high birth and impeccable breeding, someone who would complement his station in life. All this he plans to accomplish in a month or so. On his way to view the Estate, he gets thrown from his horse in front of a cottage and upon waking up, he finds himself suffering of amnesia, in bed with a woman who seems familiar, yet is a stranger to him. As he slowly recovers from his injuries, and slowly regains his memory, Nash is determined to fight his attraction to the young lady that saved his life¿. There is much to recommend this book: all characters were well written, three-dimensional and believable, (even the secondary ones). The children were charming, friends and the bad guys were all interesting, but be warned: the mystery of who is tormenting Maddie and her brood is predictable. But, as much as I loved it (I TRULY DID; I¿m an all time sucker for amnesia stories, as well as Ms. Gracie¿s books), I still found it not to be original and just too similar to her Novella of ¿A Virtuous Widow¿ from 2002¿s ¿Gifts of the Season¿. Now, that story is an original and I HIGHLY recommend you find and read.Regardless of all this, I had a lot of fun reading it as well as adding it to my Anne Gracie Keeper Shelf.

A true Cinderella story with 5 charming children...I could not put this book down and hated for it to end. I would give 8 stars if I could.
