Stuntman Adam Campbell returns home to Riverbend, Texas, after being seriously injured in a movie stunt gone wrong. He settles in to heal at his family's ranch, where his four brothers, famous trick riders, train horses.

Adam is stunned to find Bailey Farrell working there–she was the shy girl who'd helped Adam graduate high school so he could run off to Hollywood. Except the budding Bailey, with whom Adam had a brief but intense affair, has blossomed into a beautiful woman. Now the sparks that had once ignited between them threaten to explode.

Adam is beaten-up, broken-down, and has lost his nerve--the stunt that injured him also killed his best friend. The only one he can turn to is Bailey, but will Bailey, who has come back to Riverbend to lick her wounds after a painful divorce, be willing to help him again?

Book 1 of Riding Hard.

## Fantastic read. I really enjoyed this book. I love that there wasn't a ton of bitterness between this couple from when they parted 10 years ago. That made for a refreshing change. And I also loved that Adam wasn't afraid to ask the heroine for help. Some of the horse training scenes moved a tad slow for me but I still enjoyed this. The banter between the brothers was fabulous. I always enjoy when brothers or buddies give each other crap, all the while loving them to pieces. I hope Carter will have a book of his own but hopefully not with his baby mama. It's just too hard to think of a woman who abandoned her family as a heroine. Will read again.

I have read some of Ms. Ashley's other books and this is a departure from her usual writing... But, I liked it a lot and found her characters really came alive on the pages... This is an intro to a long series as each of the brothers and some friends will each get their stories... Adam was a stunt man who was severely injured in a stunt gone bad and his best friend was killed.. He comes home to Texas to heal with his family and finds his former girlfriend (10 years removed) is now working on the family ranch training horses and learning to be a stunt rider... Disfigured from the fiery crash and recovering from his wounds and broken bones as well as his fear he needs a lot of TLC to put his life back together... He gets it from a loving family and you know who.. I will definitely read the rest of this series...

A dangerous stunt job kills one and nearly kills another movie stunt rider. Injuries are not strictly limited to physical damages. Emotional damage is equally harmful and often takes as long, if if not longer than physical ones. So is the case of Adam. This is complicated by a love he left behind to chase his dreams. Can he be cured by Bailey or the doctors?

This was a very entertaining story about a stuntman who is seriously injured and goes home to recuperate and finds the bookworm that helped him graduate high school and who he had a quick fling with has grown up into a spirited and confident woman with her own scars.  She is the only one he can turn to to help him over come his PTSD in order to reclaim his life, but the more time he spends with her, the less he wants to return to the Hollywood life he left behind in a flaming wreck. Bailey has been burned before.  She left her high end Austin lifestyle and her excheating husband to torture to her home town to lick her wounds and move on.  What she finds is a reason to be happy and get out of bed, working on the Campbell ranch training stunt horses and learning how to do stunts herself.  What she doesn’t expect is her high school crush and very brief lover, Adam, to come back ten years later and jeopardize what she has built with his charming smiles and smoldering looks. She tries to keep her distance but when he comes to her one night and begs her to help him overcome his fears and panic attacks in order to beat an old high school rival, she can’t help but agree. What happens next is sure to shake up her life and break her heart, again, when he goes back to his LA life. I enjoyed the story.  It was fast, well-paced, had a good emotional struggle that pulled the reader into the plot, and the characters are well developed and entertaining.  I enjoyed watching Adam work to win Bailey back, beat he fears, and in the end prove to Bailey that she is more important to him then any sort of Hollywood lifestyle and that he will not walk away from her a second time.  Fun story, sexy cowboys, action and suspense that kept me turning the pages, and great passion.  Will definitely pick up more in this series.

I loved this book! I have read this authors other series and decided why not buck up and read about some hot cowboys. I want disappointed. Just enough action throughout to keep a reader going, and characters that have you laughing out loud, and spouting off at the mouth. Would suggest if you are into some Hollywood action mixed with some country living, and some seriously good looking men :).

Adam Riding Hard Jennifer Ashley Adam is the first book in bestselling author Jennifer Ashley’s contemporary Riding Hard series set in the Texas Hill Country. It’s a spicy and sweet second chance romance starring Adam Campbell and Bailey Farrell, who are genuine and likeable, have amazing chemistry and their romance is as sizzling as a hot Texas summer. With a fast paced narrative, action packed scenes and an engaging storyline plus some fabulous costars this amazing author once again makes her tale come to life for her audience. Book one does a great job of setting the stage for stories to come The audible version is put in the very capable voice of Eric Dove. His drawly aw shucks southern baritone, slow paced reciting, impressive range and excellent talent of sounding so natural while vocalizing male, female and kid voices too makes him the perfect choice for this novel. SUMMARY: Stunt man to the stars Adam Campbell pretty much went for what he wanted and got it for most of his life. That is until a stunt went horribly wrong killed his best friend and left him broken and burned. What else could he do but go home to Texas, the loving arms of his family and the family’s very successful trick riding operation. When he arrives he’s stunned to find his high school sweetheart learning the dangerous trade and he is not happy about it, not after what he just went through. Bailey Farrell left small Riverbend Texas for the city lights and a job in Austin but after an agonizing divorce she came home to heal and got a job on the Campbell ranch learning to stunt ride. When the oldest Campbell brother and her first love comes home to recover from a dreadful accident her first thought is that she’ll do whatever it takes to help get him back on his feet, the second thought is that she never really stopped loving him.

I like the way it is written, fast, easy, good plot without too much unnecessary drama... now I'll read "Grant", I hope the author keep it short and sweet as she did in "Adam"

Hollywood meets cowboy romance. A great relationship based on the past and present need for support.

Adam was a sweet second chance romance in Jennifer Ashley’s, Riding Hard series. It’s a fast read, with plenty of alphas, horses, and strong women. I enjoyed meeting the Campbell family, each brother is unique. I loved the strong family bonds portrayed and the loyalty they have for one another. I also had a fun with the family and their business of being trick riders. Adam was yummy and Bailey was perfect for him. The romance is sweet and you can see they still have chemistry even after all these years. Adam was an enjoyable feel good romance. I had a delightful time reading. Rated: 3 Stars

I love Jennifer Ashley but it took me a second or two to get into this. I think part of the problem was I was waiting for a lion or wolf to show up. I love her shifters! Unfortunately none did. At first I had a little issue remembering that. But I soon got into the story and found myself really enjoying it. As with all her books I enjoyed the characters. She does a wonderful job of layer their emotions and making me was to dig for more! I was a little put off with the fact that his family hired her knowing he had some feelings, good or bad, it didn't matter. Family should stick together. I didn't dwell on that for long. I really enjoyed Adam and Bailey's story. I liked how they interacted together and was able to put their past behind them. I also enjoyed Adam's family. They are so funny and caring. I can't wait to read more of their stories. I will also love Ashley's shifters and historical's better but I will be adding her contemporaries to my rotation.
