Adam Tucker is a former Coast Guard rescue swimmer. After a tragic accident, he left the Guard and returned to his hometown in Washington State to start a camp for troubled kids. At the same time, he owned and operated a wilderness excursion business with his twin brother, Zane. Heading into the busy season, the business began hiring tour guides. But when the beautiful young woman who came to interview did not fit the bill as the outdoorsy river guide type, Adam dismissed her right away without giving her a chance. Jadyn McAllister aka Jane McAllen was in hiding as far away as she could get from from the glitzy big city and a notorious Miami drug lord who thought she snitched on him to the FBI. Her money was running out and she needed a cash job fast. An award winning professional interior designer, she was hoping to get hired to design the living quarters for the kids Adam was trying to help. When Zane points out to Adam that Jadyn was there to help with the design, he sets out to find this attractive woman and convince her to come back and do the job. Neither expected to find a connection. As they begin to trust each other, she discovers there is someone else she trusted who is not who she thought they were. Suddenly her life is in danger and Adam has to try to save her without knowing exactly what he is saving her from. As the intensity builds, the mystery begins to unravel. I liked Adam right from the start. A no-nonsense guy who knew what he wanted and wanted it done right away. Jane was a little harder to warm up to but probably because she has this hidden past that we gradually learn about as we get further along in the book. A hard worker and researcher, she wanted to make the boys’ house the best she could at the same time incorporating the town’s history into her design. As their secrets began to unfold, their trust in each other grew. I’ve always found Roxanne’s books to be well-written and hard to put down. This one is no different and has that touch of suspense that I’ve loved from her earlier books. I would most definitely recommend Adam (Book 2) and look forward to reading more of this series. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Adam, by Roxanne St. Claire, is the second in the multi-author series set in Eagle’s Ridge, Washington. The town boasts a strong military history and is the perfect setting for the “seven brides for seven soldiers.” Adam is a former Coastie rescue swimmer who fails on his last rescue and comes home to try something different. Jane is an interior designer from Miami running from the drug cartel. They couldn’t be more opposite on paper, but in reality, they are more alike than different. I love St. Claire’s work no matter what she writes, though the return to at least light suspense makes my heart happy. I am intrigued by the overarching storyline of Miss Woody and am interested to see how the author authors pick it up. I had no issues reading this one without reading the first in the series. If you are a military fan, or small town fan, or just a St. Claire fan, you will thoroughly enjoy this read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Danger adventute mystery and decorating, not what she expected to happen in her life when Jayden was pulled from her home and directed to run from Miami and hide out in Washington State and trust nobody until the FBI could pick up the guy who had a hit out on her. When a sexy river guide wants to hire her for an interior design project hiding becomes more difficult and wanting to trust him becomes easier with each moment they are together. Nothing like a sexy water/mountain god to keep your mind off your troubles. Loved these two and learning more about the rest of the guys in this series.

Adam is a winner!! Adam, the 2nd book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series is a winner. Jane McAllen and Adam Tucker get off to a rocky start with a misunderstanding of who she is. Of course, that misunderstanding is further complicated in that Jane isn’t being totally honest about who she is. Of course, sparks fly and emotions run high. The chemistry between the two characters sizzles and it’s a fun read to see how Adam and Jane both finally realize they need to take a chance on trusting each other as well as themselves. Roxanne St. Claire also throws in a bit of suspense, reminiscent of her books in the Bullet Catcher series. She is a master at subtle hints and evolving the story so that by the end everything is satisfactorily wrapped up. The character’s backstories are seamlessly woven into the plot and their fears and love neatly mesh together to make for an emotional and heartwarming read.

This is the second book in the series 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers - written by 7 fabulous authors. While you can read each book as a stand alone book, I highly recommend you read all of them. Book two in the series is written by Roxanne St. Claire - and I absolutely love anything she writes, and she did not disappoint. The sparks between Adam and Jadyn (Jane) were hard for each of them to ignore, but each of them keeping secrets and afraid to trust anyone and it put a wall up initially. Love the entire town of Eagle's Landing, and the description of the mountains and the Snake River make me want to go out and go hiking! While there are moments that people from the first book appear, I love that Roxanne made this Adam & Jadyn's story and how they learn to overcome their past to come together and build a future together. Sweet, some spice, and some suspense make this a fast read - you won't want to put it down once you start reading it.

I am properly buzzing for the '7 Brides for 7 Soldiers' series and Roxanne St Clair did not disappoint. One of my favourite one click authors  does it again.   Adam was the true alpha male, but some with self doubt. And Jadyn was the damsel in distress but she had faith in Adam and as you'd expect he didn't disappoint.   I am really looking forward to ZANE by Christie Ridgway

Books One and Two of a new series are starting off to be very good short reads... Seven military friends return home to find a new life.. Each friend has a book and each book a different author but all tied in.. Excellent mountain town of 10,000 citizens with a strong military history makes a great background for each of the stories... Based on the first two books I recommend highly...

This is an absolutely fabulous story and can be read as a standalone. Adam Tucker has left the Coast Guard even though that is the only thing he ever wanted to do with his life was be a rescue swimmer but when he lost a teen he was done. Now he is back home in Eagle Ridge and refurbishing the boat house into a camp for foster kids and trying to get on with his life. In walks the help he needs in the form of an interior designer, however, she is on the run. Jadyn McAllister landed in Eagle Ridge from Miami on the run from a drug lord. Now she just needs to hide and not give up her real name. That does not go over too good but together Adam and Jadyn learn to trust until he gets her real name and together they pull together the boat house and set the foundation for so much more. Can these two who have both had such a hard time learning to trust in the past, learn to trust enough to love? I highly recommend this one!!!!!! **Received this ARC for review**

I really enjoyed this one. This is the second book in a series but each book can be read standalone. With fantastic writing, incredible characters, and a story that will grab you by the heart this is a book you don't want to miss. The plan Adam Tucker to be a lifer in the Coast Guard goes by the wayside after an rescue goes horribly bad, Now he's back in his hometown starting an adventure camp for teens. Renovating a houseboat for the campers becomes a top priority and getting it ready in time rests in the hands of interior designer Jadyn McAllister. One gorgeous and very sexy designer who Adam is convinced has secrets. Adam knows nothing good ever comes from secrets but could whatever trouble these secrets bring be worth it? I highly recommend this one.

Adam Tucker loves his mountains, his white water rapids and the fresh air. As co-owner of A to Z Watersports with his twin brother Zane, he gets a chance to enjoy outdoor adventures everyday. Although the former Coast Guard AST (aviation survival technician) remains haunted by the one rescue he couldn’t successfully complete, he has a plan to rescue at-risk youths that he has every intention of completing. Meanwhile, Jane McAllen of Miami, Florida (now temporarily Jadyn McAllister of Eagle Ridge, Washington) is haunted by a heart-breaking youth and a terrifying present. Sent on the run by the FBI, Jane landed in Eagle Ridge and smack in the middle of Adam’s boathouse-to-youth camp renovation. Despite an initial rocky start that is the exact opposite of a “meet cute,” Adam and Jane begin to work together on the project. Will these two give in to their mutual attraction? Will danger follow Jane to Eagle Ridge? Another soldier of Eagle Ridge gets to meet his woman in this terrific second book in the “7 Brides for 7 Soldiers” series. With her fantastic wit and “mad” writing skills, Roxanne St. Clair takes us on a ride down the rapids with Adam and Jane! At times humorous, at times suspenseful, this story packs a powerful emotional punch. How appropriate that a Halloween release deals with protagonists that are haunted by events in their past that paralyze them in many ways. Adam is struggling to fight through those emotions, while Jane erects walls around her emotions to seal them off. Watching these two struggle with their past, present and future is riveting; I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! This series also deals on a larger scale with the concept of “healing” - the healing of emotions and personal feuds not only for the “present” soldiers of Eagle Ridge, but also for the founders of Eagle Ridge - soldiers who fought together in World War II and then fought with each other once they returned home. I am eagerly awaiting how the next 5 authors will treat the remaining soldiers/friends as they find their way back home to Eagle Ridge!

Oh my, I loved Adam's story!! This is the second book in 7 brides for 7 soldiers but can be read as a stand alone. The guys are friends from high school that served in the military and are now out. Adam has returned to Eagle Ridge, where he is building a boys camp. Jane arrives in Eagle Ridge looking for a job, but has a big secret. Love the relationship of Adam and Jane, where they both learn to trust each other and open up about their pasts. They will take you on an adventure with plenty of suspense that will keep you turning the pages. Looking forward to reading about the other friends in this series.

I really enjoyed Adam by Roxanne St. Claire, the second book of the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. Each book may be part of the series but is a standalone story. Adam Tucker a rescue swimmer, left the Coast Guard after a save went bad and decided to start a youth adventure camp in his home town of Eagle’s Ridge. He is willing to do whatever it takes to help other kids who need guidance in reaching adulthood. He’s even bet his twin brother that he can finish converting the boathouse into camp living quarters before the summer season puts their water-sports business in full swing. But Adam needs the help of a beautiful interior designer who is guarding secrets in order to stay alive. Jadyn McAllister thinks that Eagle’s Ridge is the perfect place to stay “off the grid” until things settle down in her home-town of Miami. She is working for cash and keeping her real name—Jane—a secret, as that’s exactly what the FBI told her to do. They also told her to trust absolutely no one, which isn’t a problem until she meets Adam. From the moment these two meet, sparks fly and an attraction builds every time they are together, which makes it difficult to not want to trust and believe in each other. I truly loved reading this book. Ms. St. Claire is a wonderful story teller and she seems to always draw me into her books, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am looking forward to the next entry in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Jane (Jadyn) was hiding out in a small town. Adam is hiding out in his hometown too, but for a very different reason. Jane has a drug dealer looking for her and Adam is hiding from his old life with the Coast Guard. It was a job he loved, but after losing a teenager, he just couldn't do it any more. Now, he is trying to remodel an old boat house to give some at risk teens an outdoor adventure. He needs someone to help him with the decorating and Jane just happens to be an interior decorator. Adam knows she has secrets and he wants to help her, but she wants to know his secrets in return.

Adam is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone story. Adam and his brother along with friends they met in detention in high school make up the 7 soldiers who have served in the various branches of the military. These 7 men have remained the best of friends and are always there for each other when needed. After leaving the Coast Guard following losing a teen on a rescue, Adam Tucker has plans to open a youth camp in his hometown. Of course where he wants to set up the camp needs major work and he has a short amount of time to get it finished thanks to the bet he makes with his twin brother Zane. When Jadyn shows up to help out with interior decorating for the camp, I have to say I didn't love seeing Adam blow her off so quickly initially. She was exactly what he needed to win the bet with Zane and make his dreams come true. Jadyn "Jane" McAllister really is an interior decorator, but Jadyn isn't her real name. She is in hiding thanks to doing a decorating job for someone in a major drug cartel. Now I'll say right up front, I totally questioned how Jane was told to go off the grid and hide under another name without having a contact in the area where she was going. I really did like Jane from the moment we met her and knew that Adam did as well, even as he could tell she was hiding something. I loved her ideas to bring the history of the town into the boathouse where the troubled teens would stay at the camp. I loved that Jane needed to learn more about the area to finish up the boathouse, which meant meeting Adam's grandfather and the the other men who named Eagle's Ridge. It also allowed Adam and Jane more time together, and for their chemistry and connection to grow. I really enjoyed watching Jane and Adam fall for one another. It wasn't and easy path for either of them, but it was the right path for them. I really loved the chemistry between them and loved how their differences made them work as a couple. I really did love that Adam cared enough about Jane pretty early on to check in on the story with friends who had connections. I hated that Jane didn't initially understand his motivation at first, and wanted her to trust him more. I loved that Adam ended up showing Jane he would do everything in his power to always protect her. Roxanne St. Claire once again gives her readers a wonderful story that at time keeps you on the edge of your seat reading. The romance between Adam and Jane was strong and I loved getting to meet so many other characters from the series. Rating: 4 stars (B+) Review copy provided by publisher

This is book 2 in a fun new series from multiple authors. Each book revolves around a different guy from the town of Eagle's Ridge, Washington. Adam Tucker thought he was going to be in the Coast Guard for life, but after he failed to save a teenage boy from drowning, he left the Coast Guard and headed back home to Eagle's Ridge. There Adam and his twin brother Zane are running A to Z Watersports. Adam is also in the process of opening a youth adventure camp to try and help troubled teens. Zane loves to bet anybody for anything so he bets Adam that he will not get his camp ready in time for opening day. Of course Adam takes that bet and is surprised when Zane sends a pretty interior designer his way to help him. As soon as Adam sees Jadyn, whose real name is Jane, the sparks fly. What Adam doesn't know is that Jane is hiding out, per the FBI, from something that she shouldn't have seen back in Miami, FL. Jane doesn't want to get too close to anyone in Eagle's Ridge since she won't be there long, but of course the more she is around Adam, that feeling changes. The more time Adam and Jane spend together, the more they both open up about things in their past. When the past comes back to haunt them, it takes a huge leap of faith with both of them so they find their happy ending. I just adored both of these characters. I loved how open and honest Adam was. I really enjoyed how all Jane wanted in life was to belong somewhere and how she finally found it. I even really liked all of the secondary characters and it will be fun to see how each of their stories will play out.

The complexity of the story defines the characters in it, while enticing any person who is lucky enough to read it. Adam is a man with the heart of a warrior but like every fighter he carries baggage that is suffocating the essence of who is as a man. Guilt is his constant companion and responsibility is his only escape. Until he meets a woman with secrets of her own and and allure that calls to the protector in his soul. Then he becomes the hero he was meant to be. Adam is a combination of what Ms. St. Clair does best. A suspenseful temptation that forges a haunting pathway to the soul. (4.5 stars)
