Overview

Safe and comfortable. That about sums up Chloe's life. Meeting a tall, dark stranger covered in tattoos is not in her plans. Bad boys just aren't her type - even if they are gorgeous and built like a brick wall. Her internal alarms warn her that Aiden Hunter is definitely on the list of men her mother told her to avoid, but she doesn't listen. Instead, she finds herself drawn to Aiden and the excitement he promises.
Near the beach in Miami, he occupies her days with thrills and her nights with passion she's never experienced before. She knows he's hiding something from her, but Chloe pushes away her concerns and embraces this new way of living.
As Aiden teaches her to live life to the fullest, Chloe battles the internal warnings that tell her to be wary. By the time she realizes her fears may be justified, it's too late.
Aiden's past is catching up to him, but is he the hunter or the hunted?

I really enjoyed this one. I found Chloe to be a very interesting heroine. She begins the story very sedate, as if she is sleepwalking through her life. She is afraid to take risks or disturb the status quo. After a chance meeting in a bar she meets Adrian Hunter. His tattoos scream bad boy to Chloe set off all of her danger alarms. For the first time in her life Chloe throws caution to the wind and travels with Adrian to Florida. This trip proves to be more than just a simple vacation. Adrian is determined to show Chloe that life should be truly lived. But Adrian has secrets, and these secrets are setting off the biggest alarm of all. I really liked watching Chloe's growth throughout the book. In the beginning she is very shy and predictable, living each day planned. Her life was very safe and orderly, not to mention boring. Adrian Hunter was a great character. Although he is covered in tattoos he is actually more sweetheart than bad boy. And when these two do get together is very HOT! Shay Savage writes some great dirty talking heroes. My only real gripe with this book was the dramatic climax towards the end. There was a subplot involving a painful spot in Adrian's past. I wish this would have been drawn out a little more, it was there one minute than over the next. But overall this was a very satisfying read.

Nice plot, romantic, characters were endearing and believable, but I wonder why she didn't reciprocate during sex, if you know what I mean. Kind of disappointing because of that. Made her appear a little selfish. One thing that REALLY bugged me was when almost every chapter's last sentence began with, "And with that." Didn't the writer, or at least the beta notice that? As a writer myself, I know you should really watch for these kinds of things, and I found it highly irritating. For that reason, I won't be reading any more from this writer, but for people not as particular as I am, you might not be as bothered by it as I was. There were also errors in grammar and other small mistakes. Try reading it over many, many times before publishing, and these things are less likely to happen.

Excellent read!  I have loved all of Shay Savage's previous works and this was just another example of why she is an auto-buy for me.  This was one crazy twist and turn after another that kept me up at night reading to see what happened next.  And did I mention the HEAT?!!  Wow!   Also, definitely loved the ending!  Sooo good!
