Alice's Adventures Under Ground

In 1865, Lewis Carroll published "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". Two years before that, however, on 26 November 1864, Carroll gave Alice the handwritten manuscript of "Alice's Adventures under Ground", with illustrations Carroll had drawn himself. At Christmas 1886, the manuscript was published in a facsimile edition. Several further facsimile editions have since appeared, and in them all, Carroll's careful handwriting can be seen.
