Students of Japanese are familiar with the term "particle," and realize that they, like English prepositions, require a special effort to master. This handbook provides all the information one would need on these tricky units of grammar.

All About Particles covers more than 70 particles those that are used regularly as well as those used less frequently in more than 200 uses. The book can be approached as a guiding textbook and studied from beginning to end. It is as a reference book, however, that
All About Particles shines. It is light and easy to carry, slim enough to fit into the corner of a shoulder bag, and concise enough to quickly clarify particle-related questions. It is a priceless tool for any serious student of Japanese.

I have been going through all my old books that are on the shelf, trying to "eBook-ize" as many as I can. This was a great book I used in college, and I was really happy I found it as an eBook, especially for only $10. As the previous reviewer stated, this book has some compatability issues with various Nook products. The specific issue is that the Japanese kana and kanji are not present in every font, typically they are only found in Unicode fonts, which to save space, many fonts do not support.I own a Nook 3G, Nook Color, and Nook Simple Touch (a.k.a. Nook 2nd Generation), and tried it on the Android phone/tablet app as well. I tried all the fonts, and the "Publisher's settings" as well (which sometimes use embedded fonts in the book, bypassing device font issues). Here are the results: Original Nook 3G: Works great, no issues (Original Nook Wifi uses same software, should be ok, too) Nook Color: Works great, no issues Nook Simple Touch: Does NOT work; even publisher's defaults only display a small number of characters, most are still ? boxes Nook Android phone/tablet app: Using publisher's defaults, works fine. Regular fonts are hit or miss I don't have an iOS device to test, but based on the other test results and some simple assumptions, it is likely to work on publisher's defaults, and some of the built-in fonts should work partially at least, if not perfectly. So in short, it's fine, unless you have a Nook Simple Touch. This was tested using the latest updates available for each device as of 8/21, which for the Simple Touch (the only one with an issue), was 1.01 -- if you have something newer in the future, they may have fixed this, but just be aware.

I have the hard copy version of this book, and find it useful for expanding my understanding of Japanese particles. However the electronic version requires Unicode (intrnational character) display, which is currently beyond the Nook's capabilities. Hence, as a Nook app, this book is unreadable.
