Cassandra Baines almost has it all: a flourishing career as one of the youngest English Lit assistant professors at NYU, an apartment in a city she adores, and a close circle of lifelong girlfriends that are like sisters. The only thing she doesn't have is someone special to share it with. She's been married to her work since Sean McKinnon broke her heart seven years ago.

Musician and bar owner Sean McKinnon keeps busy – too busy for a love life. He blew it with Cassie all those years ago, and no one has held a candle to her since.

But then one fateful night, of all the people in New York City, Cassandra walks into his bar, and he's drawn to her as strongly as ever. She wants nothing to do with him, but he's not going to give up so easily.

Can a bit of New York Christmas magic help two people take a second chance on true love?

## Awful. The hero's Irish accent was like nails on a chalkboard. Excruciating really. So NOT sexy. Why oh why would the heroine take him back after the callous way he left her? Devastated her seven years prior. And he had been living there for over two years. He could've easily found her if he wanted to. But he didn't seek her out. She just coincidently walked into his bar. No thanks. This book of only 105 pages was not worth my time or the three dollars.

This is the second book in the Christmas in New York series about the daughters of four sorority sisters. All grown up now, these close-knit daughters have forged lifelong friendships filled with unconditional love and fierce loyalty. In each book, one of their own comes face-to-face with someone special from their past. With the support and love for each other, these women find the courage in themselves to heal that which was broken and claim their happiness this Christmas. Sean broke Cass’s heart seven years ago after being madly in love. He didn’t think he was good enough for her so decided to leave and make a name for himself on the west coast. A heartbroken Cass throws herself into school and work. When Cass sees Sean again, she is equally smitten and angry. He wants a chance to win her heart again and she is not having it. Can love triumph again or will bitterness and hurt destroy this second chance romance? I didn’t enjoy this story as much as the first one but I was still cheering Cass on hoping for her well-deserved happily ever after. I did feel Sean’s character was a little stiff but his persistence to win his Cassie back was heartwarming. The secondary characters supported Sean and Cass well and I’m looking forward to reading more about the magic of this New York Christmas. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
