About the Author

Former navy wife turned author Jennifer L. Hart loves a good mystery as well as a good laugh and a happily ever after is a must. When she's not playing with her imaginary friends or losing countless hours on social media, she spends her free time experimenting with both food and drink recipes and wishing someone else would clean up. Since she lives with three guys and a beagle, that's usually not the case. Her works include The Misadventures of the Laundry Hag series and the Southern Pasta Shop Mysteries from Gemma Halliday Publishing.

I really enjoy this series. The story was well thought out and has a great mystery. Throw in some drama with her baby daddy, her boyfriend and her teenager and you have an excellent book. This is the second book in the series and I would recommend reading them in order, though they are stand alone mysteries. I can't wait to see what she gets up to next!

Jennifer has done it again! Her PI books are excellent. They have lots of twists and turns that keep you reading until you finish. They should come with a warning to not start if you don’t have time to finish.

All Sleuth and No Play was a great book to read. It piqued my attention from the start and kept my attention until the end. I was hooked. It follows the sleuthing of Mac and Mac (a mom and daughter team) with flavoring. The flavoring would be Hunter and Brett. There are mysteries within the mystery. It starts out with a missing person and evolves into murder, kidnapping and mayhem. There are plot twists and turns, but they are somehow ultimately connected. All Sleuth and No Play had me captivated. It's my kind of mystery with a sprinkle of romance. Honestly, when I thought I had it all figured out, the plot took a turn thickened. It evoked emotions, too. I was very nervous during several parts of the book. I really wasn't sure if it would turn out "right". Needless to say, I couldn't put this book down and I had to because real life was happening. I can't wait until the next book. Love this authors writing style.

All Sleuth and No Play is the fantastic second entry in the new Mackensie & Mackensie PI Mystery series and it more than measures up to the outstanding first book. Jennifer L. Hart is a magician at creating worlds and people that drawn me in. Each new series give me new friends to love. Mackensie Taylor is excited to get to investigate a real case after tailing too many cheating spouse, until that is, she gets a feel for the case that isn't what it first appeared to be. This one really touches her heart and soon begins to touch her life! On the home front, her daughter Mac is getting to work with her crush, an "older man" and momma Mackensie is worried to death. Apart she trust them implicitly, but a 16 year old crush is something to fear as she knows from first hand experience. Speaking of said experience, her old crush and Mac's father, offers to work with her on the case of the missing bride but him she isn't so sure she can trust him. While we are on the topic of crushes, she and detective hottie Hunter Black are still avoiding each other but that doesn't keep them from wanting. Si

A really great sequel to “Sleuthing for a Living” by Jennifer L. Hart. I so enjoyed reading Ms. Hart’s books as the dialog is witty, not overly descriptive, with a great mystery and characters. We find Mackenzie Elizabeth Taylor working with her ex-husband, Brett, on a missing persons case. Brett also learns some startling news about Mackenzie’s daughter, Mackenzie Elizabeth Taylor. Mackenzie (the mother) is still involved with Det. Hunter Black (yum), while her mother, Agnes, and upstairs tenant, Nona, add more delight to this mystery. I received a copy of this book in order to give an honest review, but after reading the first book, this was on my “buy as soon as it is published” list! I think you could read this second book without having read the first one, but honestly if you have not read the first book – you need to!! I can usually figure out “who did it” by at least the end of the book but not this time – a really enjoyable mystery. I hope a third book is in the works! (by paytonpuppy)

I found myself so involved with the different characters' life stories I almost forgot there was a mystery to solve but then there were some interesting twists and turns that pulled me right back into the mystery. This story, the second in the Mackenzie & Mackenzie PI Mysteries series, has me anxiously awaiting future books in this series.

[I volunteered to review this book] "Building relationships is crucial to a private investigator. Be careful who you stomp on and even more careful who you trust. Grudges have long memories." Mackenzie is still working for Len as a PI in training. And if that wasn't enough, her latest case has her tagging along with Brett Archer, aka the father of her brilliant teenager Mac. Add to that maintaining a small apartment house where her mother as well as her newish boyfriend Hunter the cop also live. Hunter's back story gets introduced as Mackenzie meets his family and sees their dynamic in action. As the case, she and Brett are working on begins to fall apart, Mackenzie's coffee driven uncensored mouth might just get her into...or out of trouble. Add a good ol' Boston snowstorm and too much begins to be uncovered with the melting snow and ice. This is the second book in the author's new series of cozy mysteries about Mackenzie and MacKenzie Taylor: a Mother and her teen daughter who are cluelessly drawn to Private Investigation in Boston MA. The first book set the foundation for the series and this one starts to build on that. I have to say, this one is even better than the first! So pull up a comfy chair and your biggest cup of hot liquid and settle in for a story that will take you away. 5 stars
