To Samantha Christensen, Lucas Hunter was always the guy-the sexy, smart and unattainable man she pined for throughout college. To Lucas, she was a treasured friend, a younger sister he felt the need to protect. She had a choice-to wait and hope, or to settle.

When they meet again years later, Lucas looks at Samantha and sees a woman he wants-even though she's not free to take. As they renew their friendship he finds he's falling hard, and can't accept any less than all of her.

Samantha realizes there's hope with Lucas. Will she finally have a chance to be happy with the man she's always loved, or will obligations and insecurities stand in their way?

Can Samantha and Lucas convince each other that they belong together? That it was Always You?

Second chance romances are one of my very favorite tropes, and Stephanie Rose never disappoints! I actually read this series of interconnected standalones out of order, but all of the books in the Second Chances series can truly be enjoyed without reading the others first. Always You introduces us to Lucas and Samantha and the story is told from both of their points of view. I loved Sam and Lucas together. They each have their baggage and fears, but when they're together it's amazing. I do wish that Sam would have been less of a doormat and thrown her terrible husband to the curb a long time ago, but I loved watching her grow into the stronger, more confident version of herself. Lucas was equal parts arrogant and sexy, but also sweet and devoted. Even though he had commitment issues in the past, I loved that once he made up his mind about Sam, he was all in. It's true also, that of all the author's men, Lucas is definitely the dirtiest talker. ;) There is some angst and drama in the story, but the main issues that arise are for our hero and heroine together, not against each other. The secondary characters, like I cannot possibly loathe him more Marc, were just as developed and amazing as our hero and heroine. The progression of the story is fairly predictable, but the characters and emotions were so relatable, that you can't help but fall in love with Sam, Lucas, and Bella. Speaking of Bella, she was definitely a highlight in the book and I was glad to find out more of her back story and history, since the first book I read by this author was actually Finding Me (Bella's spin off book when she is older). Always You is a wonderfully sweet and enjoyable romance and the epilogue will have you grinning ear to ear. You definitely don't want to miss any of Stephanie Rose's books!

This story has some of everything. There were plenty of scenes that made me sad, mad, and you guessed it.... very, very glad. :D I especially liked Bella, Sam's daughter. She was super sweet and her reactions to some things just made me melt. I really liked the bond that she formed with Lucas. In many books the secondary characters remain in the background even when I want to see more of them. With Always You, Bella was a great part of the book as a child would be in her mother's life. I applaud the author for writing it this way. I recommend this book to those of you who like to be affected by what you read. I received an ecopy in exchange for my honest opinion. I thought it was wonderful!

Rating: 4.5 There is only one thing I hate about this book. Besides that, I enjoyed reading this one, got myself teary eyed in some pages. Fall in love with Lucas, not just because he’s hot, or he’s rich, and completely able in bed. But because of his big, generous heart that is big enough for two amazing girls. How can you hate the man when all he does was to make them happy? At first, I wasn’t really comfortable with it. I hated the fact, I didn’t like it. But when Samantha finally stepped up and did something, I can finally see why he was needed in their lives. He was the best thing that ever happened to them. He may have come in to their lives unexpectedly and not in the best of situations, but he was just perfect. I can’t stay mad at him. Samantha had loved Lucas since she was young. But, she remained to be a friend, a younger sister to Lucas. So she gave up, and moved on. Years later, Lucas finally saw her for what she really is: a woman he wants, but problem is, she was not free anymore. They became friends. But when the attraction goes stronger every day, the line between friendship and something else blurs. Given Samantha’s history, you can’t help but pin after year, waiting for that day when she was finally going to belong fully to Lucas to complete the happiness that she felt and leave some guilt out (or the guilt was just me?). My favorite scenes were not those sexy scenes that ignites my kindle, but it was those heartwarming scenes that Lucas has with Bella, Sam’s daughter. It shows that love encompasses blood. I guess, for people who aren’t comfortable with plots such as this should steer clear. Although I wasn’t comfortable, I gave it a shot, and it was the best decision I ever made. It’s sweet, sexy, and it has scenes that will completely touch your hearts!

Beautiful This was a beautiful second chance love story from beginning to end. Samantha has always had a crush on her best friend cousin Lucas but never felt like she stood a chance. She finally decides to take a chance but faith is fickle and it isn't their time yet. Fast forward years later and a chance friend request on Facebook leads to coffee. One look at Samantha who stuck with a deadbeat husband, and Lucas is done for an realizes that Samantha has grown into a beautiful woman that he desires. What starts off as a reunion between friends quickly turns into to more and makes you believe in second chances to get it right. The writing was superb, the plot was realistic, the characters were well developed and the chemistry between the Samantha and Lucas was breathtaking. There wasn't a part of me left untouched after reading this book. Thank you so much Stephanie for creating this couple who feels so realistic and taking us on a helluva ride where two souls come together to help create an everlasting love.

This was a great debut novel from Stephanie Rose.  Its a beautiful story about second chances. Samantha was a character I could relate to on many different levels. Shes the shy, almost naive girl who never said what she wanted, she settled for what ever came her way and accepted her life for what.  One day she has the opportunity to reunite with Lucas, the man she always admired from afar but never thought she was good enough for.  This story has so many twist and turns.  It will make you smile, make you cry and pull at  your heart strings.  I can not wait to see what else Stephanie Rose has in store for us in her next book.

This story begins with Samantha being a “love-crazed” college girl chasing after her desires. Lucas Hunter is the man that she has always wanted, but never thought that she could have. After thirty years, Lucas moves back and wants to see her. Even though she is married to a man who despises her, she can’t stop thinking about what was lost when Lucas went to San Diego after college. His presence creates an emotional turmoil within Samantha, which leaves her with a lot of questions. Does he still feel the same way about her or could there ever be anything more? And…with a daughter in the picture, what are her options? While I do not condone some of the things that happened within the story, I also know that people are not perfect and mistakes happen. I could relate to Samantha in ways that tore at my heart when she faced her struggles. Her marriage had ended long ago, but she was still living in her shell with a man that she couldn’t stand. Her fear crippled her, she wanted her daughter to have a father; even if it meant a lousy one. When temptation fights it’s way through her front door, I found myself asking “what would I have done?” The answer is not always easy to decipher since the experience isn’t mine; however, I did find that this story showed a lot of realistic issues. In my opinion, this story is targeted toward a female audience. It is very romantic, shows pain and understanding, as well as legal hardships and ramifications; however, I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance and realistic reads. I rate this with five stars since it is well written, original, and full of creativity.
