It's so nice to read books without foul language & explicit sex! And to get the sweet encouragement along with the characters is wonderful. The characters are so real I find myself praying for them. I have read two of these books & plan to keep on until I've read them all.

Destitute because of her husband’s death and a lack of a steady job for an honest woman, Maggie puts an ad in the paper to be a mail order bride. When Caleb replies, Maggie believes he might be the perfect man to rescue her and her daughter Rachel. But there is one problem—Maggie is a Christian but Caleb is not. Will Maggie be the influence he needs to bring him to Christ? Book three in the Hymns of the West Series, Amazing Grace continues the story of the Stuart family and introduces several new characters. Although I have not read the other two books in the series, I picked up the story easily, as the author intended. I enjoyed this book. It was interesting to explore the problem of Maggie and Caleb’s relationship. Since, according to the Bible, Maggie should not marry Caleb because he was not a Christian, the fact that they were growing closer to one another was questionable. However, by the end of the story, I thought the author handled the situation quite well. As Caleb grows closer to Maggie, Anna, Caleb’s sister, grows closer to the pastor, Miles, and his two sons. Having not read book two, I had little knowledge of Anna and Miles’ relationship previous to Amazing Grace. Seeing their relationship blossom was sweet. The characters went through various trials throughout the book. They grew as people, learning to get along and become closer to God. The children were as much of characters as the adults were and their relationships with God and other people also grew throughout the story. Overall, Amazing Grace is a sweet Christian romance. It was encouraging, clean, and had a pleasant undertone. I would recommend it to my friends and those who enjoy sweet romances. I received a free copy of Amazing Grace from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Reviewed by Tracy A. Fischer for Readers' Favorite The mail-order bride. Just the idea has intrigued me since I learned of the concept as a little girl. When I saw that this was the premise of Amazing Grace: Book Three of the Hymns of the West Series by author Faith Blum, I knew I wanted to read it. Following the story of Tennessee farmer Caleb Stuart and his desire for a wife, and his eventual finding of widowed Maggie MacDougall and their courtship through letters, Amazing Grace is a sweet and lovely story of finding love in an unconventional way. Caleb, who is a shy, “to himself” kind of guy, longs for a partner and helpmeet in life. When the devoutly Christian Maggie and her spunky daughter Rachel are put in his path, it’s not immediately certain that they will be a match. But through letters and time, their paths become clear. I very much enjoyed this delightful story. There are certainly very strong Christian undertones, and Faith Blum’s writing does much to espouse the glory of God. The story is a simple and good read, filled with interesting characters that have had to deal with many difficult challenges, but still do their utmost to be the best person they can be. Faith in God and in prayer are an important aspect in Amazing Grace and author Faith Blum handles these themes with delicacy and subtlety. This book would appeal to any reader who is looking for a sweet romance, likes historical fiction, and who enjoys reading books with a strong Christian focus. I was pleased to see that Faith Blum plans to continue writing in this series, and will look forward to the next book!

I enjoyed this book! I loved how Caleb's personality changed when he fell in love. When I turned to the last page, I thought "Oh no!'. I didn't want the story to end.
