They say that every tragic hero has a fatal flaw, a secret sin, a tiny stitch sewn into his future since birth. And here I am. My sins are no longer secret. My flaws have never been more fatal. And I’ve never been closer to tragedy than I am now.

I am a man who loves, a man whose love demands much in return. I am a king, a king who was foolish enough to build a kingdom on the bones of the past. I am a husband and a lover and a soldier and a father and a president.

And I will survive this.

Long live the king.

There are some books that you read and really enjoy, but forget about not long after you've finished. This book will not be one of those for me. This book will stick with me forever. American King is definitely one of my top reads for 2017. Sierra Simone has created an absolute masterpiece with this entire series. I'm broken, I'm healed, I'm 100% in awe. I'm a mess after reading this story. My emotions are all over the place. Sierra Simone seriously stripped down every emotion I have with this POWERFUL love story. American King is a love story so tragic, yet so remarkable. American King is brought to you through several different points of view, which I loved! Being able to understand all of the main characters through their point of views (then and now) brought so much of the back story to light. I finally have the answers to everything I've questioned throughout the entire series. I won't go into detail about every thing I loved about Ash, Embry and Greer because I don't know if I could keep myself from revealing spoilers. Let me just say, I was enamored with each one of them. I could however sit here and list 100 reasons why I HATE Abilene. She is the devil! I was hoping she'd fall off a bridge in American Prince, but unfortunately I didn't get my wish. That ending though. Seriously! Mind-blowing! I'm not sure I could smile any bigger then I did. Sierra, Honey you are the QUEEN! You will forever be my queen of writing! Your words flow so flawlessly together and you have truly brought us one hell of a love story! 5 astonishing stars!

This series broke my heart. The characters are so tortured by their own actions and the actions of other people, and I actually ached along with Greer, Embry and Ash. I loved how haunting each story is, and I look forward to torturing my emotions and reading another book by this author.

The author explores the emotions and motivations of the characters so that the reader becomes involved in the story. Well done!

OMG!!! I’m all sorts of happy and sad, devastated and restored, but above all, all the kinds of emotional!! Not gonna lie, I was a bit scared jumping into this after reading the first two books. I worried for my psyche (with good reason). And there were definitely tears shed and curses flung. But it was one h*ll of a ride!!! I love Ash, Embry and Greer so hard, that all the emotionally turmoil was worth it. And that’s saying a lot coming from someone who’d rather a giggle than a tear. But this trilogy was everything. Sierra Simone is everything. And if you can’t tell, I REALLY feel that you NEED to read this trilogy. That’s all, enough said. It must be done

I finished American King last night. I actually started it right when it came out but stopped after 20%. I was just crying too hard and was so afraid of the ending. When I was teenager, I was a big Arthurian fan and read most of the books Sierra mentions in her afterword. I just wasn't in the right frame of mind for a heartbreaking ending that I know goes hand and hand with Arthurian legend. I will warn now, this book really cannot be read as a standalone. To get the full impact, you must read American Queen and American Prince first. However, yesterday. For some reason, I was okay to go on the emotional journey that is American King. It could have been that I was feeling emotional and knew that I needed to read a book that would make me sob. And it did. Oh god, it did. I think I sobbed straight through the last 15% of the book. Reading the last chapters was difficult because I couldn't see through my tears. I finished the book surrounded by gross, used tissues, and through bloodshot eyes from my tears. I loved it and I hated it. I hate it because the story of Ash, Embry, and Greer was so heartbreaking and difficult to read and totally worth every single tear. I hate it because it’s done and know I have leave New Camelot and face real life. I loved it because it was what the Arthurian legend needed. A story where Lancelot and Guinevere don’t cheat on the noble King Arthur but actually all three love each other so passionately. This story translated so well to modern politics and love, it was just amazing. Of course, I had still had issues like how can Greer, a medieval historian literally writing a book about Arthurian legend, not see the Arthurian parallels in her life such as knowing someone like and named Merlin and her husband having a child with her sister. However, the small issues do not take away from the overwhelming beauty of love between Ash, Embry, and Greer. This book was such a hard read and yet totally worth it. Without spoilers, Sierra Simone has expertly adapted the Arthurian legend for a modern audience and created a believable ending for this romance novel. I’m honestly out of words right now. Just stock up on tissues, stop everything else, and read Sierra Simone’s New Camelot series.

American King cemented New Camelot's status as one of my favorite series. Yes, it's that good. Each book has built upon the last so effectively, I wanted them to never end as much as I wanted to race on to reading the next one. With American King, we finally get Ash's perspective on present events, as well as past events that we've seen through Greer or Embry's eyes. Let me tell you: it exceeded all of my hopes and expectations. Ash is such a beautifully complicated man. I could not get over this sense of melancholy under everything Ash feels and thinks, nor the way he struggled to believe he was enough as he was. He carries the weight of the world as a president and husband. He does so much to look out for everyone, trying to balance between what's good for the country with what's good for Greer and Embry. And given the events from American Prince, he feels he's failed and he carries that weight as well. The character growth across this trilogy was tremendous. Each character really came into their own in their respective books and in this conclusion. I love each one of them so much and I especially love them as a three. I really loved how Sierra explored Ash's bisexuality and the way she wrote about pleasure and pain. In fact, the way Sierra wrote this was a revelation. It was hard to see Greer and Ash apart from Embry, hard to see how things could ever be resolved. I trusted our King and I believed he had a plan for their three, as much as I believed he had a plan to resolve the threat in Carpathia. But Sierra does not make it easy on her readers. Oh, no. There was so much pain and angst amidst the beauty and love. I cried a lot while reading this because I could not see how a HEA would be possible given the circumstances. Plus, the way the Arthurian legend itself figures into the plot was amazing. I love a good retelling and I am in love with how Sierra made it her own. I am overwhelmed by the perfection of American King. I felt so much hope and happiness and completion when I finished reading. I'm so sad to leave them behind but completely satisfied at the same time. It was everything!!!

5 stars are nowhere near enough. This is the 3rd and last in the New Camelot series and finally we get an insight into the workings of Ash’s mind and boy is it a jumble of thoughts and emotions. He’s a man plagued with indecision in the aftermath of American Prince and the bombshell that Embry left behind. Let this be a warning to any unsuspecting new readers. This isn’t a standalone and you MUST read both American Queen (book 1) and American Prince(book 2) before you can attempt to read King. Not only will you be lost, you’ll have missed out on 2 spectacular books. So, as I said, we get to see Ash’s POV at last, but it’s intermingled with Greer and Embry’s to along with the mix of past and present to provide the conclusion this story so desperately needs. It’s as much of an emotional rollercoaster as the previous 2 books, perhaps more so as it had more riding on it. The highs were so high and the lows? Dramatic, gut-wrenching and painful. But through it all is the strength of not just the story, but Sierra’s writing. She drags up by the hair, kicking and screaming and makes up face the deep, dark pit inside. I loved it all. The heart-pounding moments, the blisteringly hot scenes between all 3 main characters and yes, that moment. The one we all were waiting for. And that ending??? O. M. G!!!! This book will stay in my head for a long, long time. The best read of 2017 bar none.

I cried straight through this book. I knew this story. I knew it ended with King Arthur's death. I was prepared for Maxen to go on his death march, which he did. There are times meant to be stolen moments and I cried through those. I cried when Embry kept hurting Ash even though he didn't want to. I cried when Ash understood his mistakes and saw them all clearly laid out. I cried for Greer, our darling, brilliant professor, who had to bury her beloved husband. There's more, but you'll just have to read it to find out. If you want to hear about a sword and a crown, read the sample.

American King is the third book in The New Camelot Trilogy. It is an epic conclusion to an epic series. Each book in the series gives us a new voice and new revelations. “...joined as we should be, bound as we should be, together, together, as one flesh. Man and man and wife.” In American King much of the book is in Ash’s POV. He paints such an amazing picture of Embry, that if I wasn’t already in love with him, I would definitely fall for this strong man who puts Greer and Ash first above himself and everything else. “Then don’t leave,” I say. Beg. I’m not above begging, if that’s what he wants. If he wants to see his king on his knees, weeping and tearing his clothes, I’ll do it, I’ll do anything. “Stay. I can’t do this without you.” I take a deep breath. “I never could, you know. You are my strength. My courage. And I need you.” The American King, Ash, is such an amazing leader. He has to rise above difficult circumstances and in all things he just wants to do the best for his country. “I think about right sacrifices. I think about the man I am, the man I will always be. I won't lay down this crown until I know the world will be a better place for it.” I loved this story! It is so layered and the characters are so multi dimensional. There is suspense, intrigue, scheming, love, heartbreak, and OFF THE CHARTS HEAT!!! 6 Stars!!

American King by Sierra Simone – 10 billion stars!!!!! EPIC, BEAUTIFUL, EMOTIONAL, INTENSE AND PASSIONATE!!! Once upon a time, there was a King with his Queen and their Little Prince… I have so much to tell about this book and my heart is about to go into cardiac arrest after finishing this magnificent piece of literature that took my breath away word by word. The most epic conclusion to one of the greatest story’s ever told! Sierra Simone has created something so much bigger than we can ever master to understand. Every word, every chapter, every situation, every character, every emotion is on point. This is one of those books that you have to take a moment here and there to get your breathing under control to be able to keep reading. There are no words in this world that could praise this author and this book well enough and give it the credits it truly deserves. American King is book 3 and final installment of the New Camelot Trilogy and can NOT be read as a standalone, make sure you read American Queen & American Prince before this otherwise you will be lost and miss out on a spectacular story that is told through all three books! This is mainly Ash’s book but other main and side characters get to speak up and therefore this is from multi point of view and it’s written so flawlessly you keep craving more and more. We get to follow one of the best trios ever created Ash, Greer and Embry on a different yet the same paths and while reading you get the feeling of being right there with them, feeling what they felt, seeing what they saw, hurting the way hurt, being happy as they were. The dynamics and chemistry are so powerful and so hot that there should come “Flammable” warning with the book. I LOVED this story so much I am having a hard time to comprehend with it all and put it in words. There was really EVERYTHING in this masterfully written ending to an amazing series. There isn’t a single thing I could have wished for, everything was delivered on a silver platter. There was one point when I almost died…like choking on an apple dying kind of death. And that moment could equally relate to how I was feeling while reading that chapter in question. It sure was a mind game of the century and I barely came back from it. I recommend this book with every fiber in my body and I can honestly say… THIS IS THE BEST BOOK OF 2017!!!!!!!! Sierra Simone – You are a mastermind that creates magic with each story and I wish you all the success of this and all worlds beyond because you are worth it all and more. People do yourselves a favor. Read it, enjoy it and tell the world about it.

5+ PERFECT ENDING STARS!! This book deserves more than 5 stars, it is PERFECTION, BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN! American King is the icing on the cake for the New Camelot Trilogy. I ate this story up and enjoyed every page and never wanted it to end. This book will hit all your emotion buttons and pull on your heartstrings. Ash, Embry and Greer have a story to tell you that is intense, hot moments and beautiful. You will want to read all three books and in order, it is so worth your time. Sierra Simone has created a masterpiece in this trilogy, see for yourself. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I had a hard time starting this because I knew I didn't want it to end.... I was right but for the wrong reasons. I'm going to go ahead and say I hated the ending. I mean I absolutely hated it. It was like torture at one point. Okay so I didn't really like the beginning either but for different reasons. I disliked how drawled out the ramblings of Ash we're. I know this is him novel but it's like dang shut it already. 'I’m humbled and grateful with the kind of gratitude that can flay a man alive, and my entire body is trembling with the urge to reward her devotion the way I know best.' This is a great quote and about the only thing that stood out to me. I just felt like he expressed so many emotions and it could have been cut shorter. It was well, dull. The storyline was amazing though. I think I always knew Abliene was conniving and evil, however I didn't know just how deranged she actually is... She takes the cake for the most insane character of this series. I was in awe of how truly and certifiably nuts she ends up being. I was most surprised how she became my favorite character. I know that makes no sense but she was just wow. I don't want to give too much away however some food for thought from Ash... "I can’t carry all of this. I can’t lose my heart to save my soul. But I must. I have to. Even though, for once, I take no pride in the pain it will cause me." This novel will sky rocket your emotions but leave you with a sense of completion finally.

Put a fork in me. I’m done. American King officially slayed me! It is the heart-pounding, breathtaking conclusion to the New Camelot Trilogy. It delivered the fatal blow after pummeling my emotions, but American King just might be my favorite book of the three. As a side note, the trilogy is extremely intricate, with multiple players and cliffhangers galore. For maximum enjoyment, I suggest readers clear their schedules and devote a good chunk of time to reading the three books back to back. Ash—the President, Sir, and King—is one of the most magnetic characters I’ve come across in recent memory. I’ve been eager to know his thoughts on the unconventional love triangle between him, Greer, and Embry, and it is well worth the wait. American King revolves around Ash’s current re-election campaign, but there are also flashbacks sprinkled liberally throughout. Frankly, I’m not a huge fan of interspersed flashbacks. In this case, though, it works. Much of the history concerns events that already occurred in the previous books. Knowing Ash’s perspective gives depth and clarity to the character motivations. The dynamics between Ash, Embry, and Greer defy explanation. They are bound together in a wonderfully addictive relationship. Holy Mother of Hates! This book is off the heat chart in terms of kink. I love that the sex isn’t just there for the sake of smutty sex. It enhances the overall plot and serves to validate the emotions of everyone involved. Merlin has always been a fascinating enigma, and I’m so glad he’s back and just as cryptic as ever. Morgan and Abilene also return with their dubious intentions. Hello Angst, my old friend. All the suspense and astonishing revelations blew my mind, and my poor heart could barely handle the amount of stirring moments. I was destroyed. And I liked it. This tantalizing saga is powerful and all consuming—not to mention flawlessly written. I’m thrilled that the series ends on such a strong note, but I’m sad to say goodbye to so many compelling characters.

I have to say, I finished this book 2 days ago and I still haven't gotten over it. This is the first time I have sat down to even attempt to write a review. I also have to say that American King is my top book for 2017 and I am not sure if anything can dethrone it. Picking up were American Prince left off we get the ending for Embry, Greer and Ash that we wanted and then some. Without giving any spoilers we get all the characters back but this is truly Embry, Greet and Ash's story and one of the most satisfying climactic endings I have ever read. If you have not picked up this series run don't walk and 1 click all three books. It's a beautiful love story that deserves all the praise that the phenomenal Sierra Simone deserves

This is a ten star read. Seriously. This series is everything. It's a brilliant weaving of a well known story into a modern day love story. And love doesn't even remotely describe what these main characters feel for each other. And it's so much more than a love story. There's intrigue, betrayal, sacrifice, entrapment, war and peace. The three mains are all complex, yet realistic to a point. It is fiction, after all. I couldn't pick up another book or think about anything else after finishing this series/book. I know it's one that you can read over and pick up things you missed previously. And in case all of that isn't enough, it's seriously hot. Stop reading reviews and start reading this series.

Spoiler Free review here, so it's not super long! If you've read the other two books, you know the premise. An American King with a beloved and treasured Queen and his Prince. If you haven't, stop now and go read them. You'll be lost in the series, otherwise! Getting Ash's (Maxen Colchester, Mr. President) side of things has been my one want in this series. He is my King. And forever will be. This book, as Sierra is known to do, will leave your mouth hanging open and your tears threatening to fall or spilling over. I couldn't imagine a better ending to this series, even if it almost ripped my heart out. The interwoven literary likeness to King Arthur and Merlin is nothing short of genius on Sierra's part. Putting a modern spin, and it is definitely modern, on a timeless story is something that go really wrong. And Sierra is the only one I know that can get it SOOOOOOO RIGHT!!! I will read words if she puts them on cheap tp. That's how much I love her work! And this finale for Ash, Greer and Embry just catapulted the series into my top of all indie authors. I received an ARC for an honest review, however I have this whole series on ebook and once Sierra is at a signing, I'll trample her to get my hands on these beauties live!

WOW!!!!! Just WOW!!!! I don't know that my words are enough for this Trilogy. Talk about book hangovers! I was left begging for more after each book. Even knowing this was the end and I got what I wanted. I still wanted more of Simone's words and more of the characters. This book was so EMOTIONALLY RAW!!! The emotional roller coaster she took us on was brutal, powerful, beautiful, toe curling sexy and so worth the journey. This may not be for everyone but I promise if you step out of your comfort zone and take a chance on this series it is so worth it. The love Ash, Embry and Greer had for each other was breathtakingly beautiful. The message Simone delivered for me in this Trilogy was that it's ok to have your faith and be true to who you are and to never be ashamed of it. THE MESSAGE IS SO POWERFUL!!!!!!! IT IS A MUST READ!!!!!!

"Once upon a time, there were two warriors who loved the same woman as much as they loved each other. And everything that happened afterwards led inevitably to tragedy.” The ancient , Arthurian tale may have faded on the onion pages , but it gains immortality again on Sierra's Watch. Her romantic heart imbues fresh, and must I mention kinky, life into the legend.  You will feel the monarchical grandeur, sift through smoke and scars and crave at the Three Cornered Heart , that is the foundation of New Camelot. The King himself , Maxen Ashley Colchester, is larger than life , his control and sovereignty absolute and it's an honour to kneel for him, beside him, in between his legs. He has constitution of a natural Leader, his soul brave as a soldier and his Heart as big as the mountains .  Protector. Provider. Prevailer  Ever since he pulled the Sword from the rock in the fair,he is The Chosen One. His life filled with of violent turmoil and incessant burden .  But God never gives us more than we can bear . Ashley has wider shoulders and solid mettle than mere mortals  “The most important part of wearing a crown and using a sword is knowing when to set them down.” There's Greer . Swan Graceful , Regal in demeanour and Natural submissive to her King. Her unquestioned Loyalty and love makes her the ultimate Guinevere . She's the perfect woman created to embrace the complexed relationship. Her reserved Beauty and Resilient Elegance making her a prized Diva and both Ash & Embry feel honoured to gain audience in her heart. No one is beautiful like Greer, no one else has that same combination of regal poise and secret knowledge and fragility and joy. Electric and otherworldly woman Then there's Embry Moore. The Youth Icon. The petulant , stubborn , rebel of a Prince. Ash's Little Prinec . At the receiving end of abundant love and uninhibited adoration. His soul belongs to Ash, his Heart to Greer. How divine must it be ,to be love embraced so envelopingly!! what happens between the three of us is unspoken, navigated spontaneously and in the moment, but there are always certain roles we magnetize to. Greer, the compliant. Ash, the master. Me, the mood-ring of a lover, shifting and changing depending on the day, the hour, the minute.three of us are thoughtless, reflexive beasts, joined so elementally that there’s no separating us. We are one, we are one, and my body burns and sings with the truth. The peripheral characters lend balance and support throughout. Merlin is by far most intriguing , he's the actual narrator and Foreteller. Carrying enough burden for 7 lives, he is the moral compass of the story. Appearing at crucial junctures, he never assumes control but is always in control. The words just jump off the pages and nestle in your subconscious, you forget you're reading a story, instead you start living it and breathing it. You can feel the cold wet soil of Carpathia on your knees, or broken shards of glass on your finger, or chilling calm of a fog engulfed lake. You will feel it all You will see it all You will sense it all because you, like me are IN THE STORY That's how Effectual Sierra's writing is !! It shall be written in the scars of our hearts that Maxen Ashley Colchester is a Giant among men , Divine Love among impudent lovers and Majestic Arthur among subjects When he says kneel , we kneel When he asks for devotion and Obedience , we say........ Yes Sir, I promise

American King by Sierra Simone concludes the New Camelot trilogy. If you haven’t read the previous books, American Queen and American Prince, PLEASE do that before reading this book as this book really does tie everything together. Sierra Simone writes a completely beautiful tale that encompasses the legends of King Arthur along with a searing modern day love story. It is NOT your mama’s Harlequin love story. Love comes in so many different shapes and sizes but all these different configurations of love have one thing in common-passion. The passion that Ash has for Greer and Embry is palpable. You can feel every single inch of it through Sierra’s words. The gift she has for truly pulling us into the story is absolutely amazing. It is poetry, it is rhythm, it is music, it is the sun and the moon. She has a gift for putting together words that will REALLY bring you to your knees. If these words don't just suck you in and make you feel the anguish, nothing will. "How do they not hear the trickle of my heart’s blood dripping out of my chest, how do they not see the scooped-out pain in my eyes, how can they not hear every desperate plea and every rasping sob I’ve let out in the last twenty-four hours?" Ash is the King! Those who have read AQ and AP know this. He is the man in control. He is the one with the charisma to have a whole world listen to what he says. But to Greer and Embry, he is just the man they love….the one they have no choice to submit to because that is what their hearts want. When a man like Ash loves, he loves with his mind, body, heart and soul. He loves beyond measure and you want to be the one wrapped up in his love. Is this conventional? Absolutely not, but it is real. What these three have gone through, and will go through in order to live their truths and their love is a story worth reading. The tears I cried were real, pouring down my face. The laughter that bubbled out of me was absolutely out loud and perhaps unwarranted ( you know those, I’m not sure what to do so I’ll laugh things). If I had the ability, I would absolutely want to read all the New Camelot trilogy from the beginning and I recommend it to all my friends because I want to relive the beauty of this story through their eyes and hearts. Sierra Simone is the queen and I bow to her (or is it curtsy) amazing beautiful words. This deserves 10 is just that good!!
