Editorial Reviews

MAY 2011 - AudioFile

Unlike their explorer parents, 11-year-old twins Celia and Oliver are content to nestle into their couch and memorize the scripts of television programs. When fate takes them in search of their missing mother and the Lost Tablets of Alexandria, those television skills are cast in a new light. Vance Barber rises to the task of narrating this quest story as he deftly portrays characters ranging from wise Lama Norbu to breathy Professor Greenberg, slimy Sir Edmund, bickering Oliver, and questioning Celia. As the twins encounter yetis and yaks, visit with the evil witches, and continually debate which TV shows to emulate, the story drags a bit, but Barber provides momentum with a brisk pace.
