After reading the reviews I wanted to archive it but honestly; I must have hit the read button so I decided to read a couple of pages. I quite liked what I was reading. I realize some people thought the female lead was unforgiving but if one had to go through as much as she did, forgiveness would not come easily. The masquerade and the whole thing about not recognizing him was kind of hokey. I guess that's the literary liberty an autor may take. I can give her that! The sex scenes may ruffle some people's features ( in not a sensual way) but in my humble opinion; they were actions of two people who were about to embark on a love-less marriage, they chose to make love. Good for them! This book IS a page turner, it is fast moving, it does not have useless filler material.describing dinner tables, landscape, room, clothing etc. The reason I chose to write such a long review ( my very first long review) is because I feel some people have unjustly given this author a bad review. I would pay to buy this authors books. No, I am not related to her and I did not get paid to write this review. Yasmin Kheraj Georgia, USA.

Good Book I started reading a few free books and had to stop..they were really bad.  So when I started An Invitation to Scandal I didn't have a high expectation that It would be any good.  I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book.  In support of Kelly Boyce, I just purchased book 2 and 3 and look  forward to reading them.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I loved both main characters, I liked how determined they are and went after what they truly want. I don't see how Abigail was wining, to me she was brokenhearted and I could see why she acted this way. The only thing that I can complain about is the ending. As other people stated before me, it is kind of abrupt and short.

I really liked the characters EXCEPT Abigail. I couldn't get over how whiny and judgemental. Blaming ALL the problems on the Lord Roxton and she just rubbed me wrong but she would be the only complaint. Otherwise a really good book.

This was a fun story and a leading lady with a great sense of right and wrong. The best part was that she learned and was willing to adjust to life based on experience. I am ready to go buy book two!

The heroine, Abigail, did really have a one track mind. That made her seem pretty one dementional. The ending was very abrupt. And what's with that cover? His hands look so stiff, like he's afraid he'll catch something if he touches her. All in all, I would not read it again.

I have mixed feelings about the book. Overall, I liked the story. At times Abigail did tend to get on my nerves because she just had a one track mind when it came to the death of her uncle and who was to blame. I really did like Nicholas in the story and was rooting for him the whole way because it seemed like he had really changed his life around. Ms. Caldwell was someone I could not trust because she never showed emotion and later in the book it turns out there is a reason not to trust her. For me, things really picked up at the dance at the country estate of the Longbourne's. That is when Abigail seems to finally start maturing and realizing Nicholas was meant for her. Lord Tarrington's true side along with Ms Caldwell's side were also revealed at the country estate. I just did not like the way the book just seemed to end. Would have like an epilogue to state what happened to Abigail to Nicholas, even though I know I will find out in the second book of the series. I am glad that I read this book first because it does give a lot of the background for the characters in the second book.
