Ana lives with her sister and father Jesus in the small village of La Providencia in the heart of Peru's Amazon jungle. They're thrilled when the state government establishes a school. The teacher becomes a friend of their father but then is last seen when he walks into the jungle carrying a map drawn by Jesus. Days later the girls witness the village mayor murder Jesus.
