It was a good story line, it just had problems in execution. Some things just didn't make sense or weren't explained well enough and the flow was off. I enjoyed the first part. It hooked me, but then dropped the ball half way through.

The storyline was really good, but Gabe almost uses all of his nine lives in what 48 hrs. The best part of this was Chloe, she was the hero in this book, saves the ex-marine.

Lacked depth. This was ok, but just didn't come together. It is the small things, i.e. in Jacksonville and with life lived on water how is Gabe not a Seal or at minimum Navy? Not sorry read this one but it didn't engage enough it read others in series.

This action-packed romantic suspense had me on the edge of my seat. It grabbed me right from the start when a man with a gun was trying to take a little girl hostage. When Chloe talked him into letting the girl go, the girl's father, who was ex-military, had to save the woman who was now being held at gunpoint. This wasn't a typical hostage/ransom story by any means. I have never heard of a story where a ferry is hijacked. And why was the man doing that anyway? It was very dangerous for Chloe to attempt to talk the gunman into letting the girl go but she couldn't stand back and do nothing. I really liked Chloe and so did Gabe (the girl's father). The attraction between Chloe and Gabe was instant but continued to grow slowly. This was an exciting book with great characters. Gabe couldn't be better. He was a strong, competent man with the skills to save Chloe. And he was a great dad who would do anything for his daughter. I love strong military heroes with a soft side for women and children. I liked this thrilling story. It was filled with danger and hot romance

I love this series by Nicole Blanchard! It is filled with tough alpha men who fall hard for the women they love. In Anchor Gabriel doesn't know Chloe and they've never met before, but finding out this woman had put her life in danger to protect his daughter brought Gabe to his knees. He was going to do everything that he could to save her and the other people trapped on the ferry with a madman. Chloe had no idea how she was going to get everyone to safety until Gabe shows up and it gives her hope to hang on knowing that they would soon be out of this situation. With emotions running high it is no wonder that Gabe and Chloe's attraction for one another is off the charts, but what does that mean when they get out this very intense and dangerous situation? I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

4.5 Thrilling Stars! This fast action, suspenseful romance will have you on the edge of your seat! Chloe is a travel agent taking a ferry to Rockaway Island to look at some property. She has survived a bad breakup and now realizes she deserves better. Gabe is retired from the marines and is back in Florida volunteering for the Coast Guard to be close to his young daughter, Emily. When Chloe helps protect a little girl from being taken hostage on the ferry by a gunman, she becomes his main hostage. Emily is that little girl and talks her Dad into saving the beautiful woman who saved her life. So begins this thrilling ride with all it's twists and turns that keep you engaged and turning the pages. Chloe was no Damsel, she was a fighter and stronger than she ever imagined, with a clever snarky side as well. Gabe is smart, calm and in his element, improvising as things and people became unpredictable. They make a great team in an extremely stressfull situation. As they go farther out to sea with a bloodthirsty gunman out for revenge, will they be able to survive and make it back alive? This short story was so well crafted and had a depth that was truly satisfying. I felt like I got to know Gabe and Chloe, they felt genuine and honest and I really cared for them. This is a great addition to this exciting series and I am looking forward to the third book, Savior. But for now, if you are looking for a quick read that is thrilling, suspenseful and sexy, then you will definitely enjoy this book.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I enjoyed this book and the characters. It was a good 'nail biter, edge of your seat, I want to jump in the book and help them get the bad guy myself' book! I definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys action, suspense and a little romance.
