أندري بلاتونوف، كاتب مسرحي وروائي وفيلسوف روسي سوفييتي، وُلد عام 1899 في إحدى المقاطعات الروسية. بدأ العمل مبكرًا في سن الثالثة عشرة، وعُرف بشغفه بالكتابة منذ الصغر. تميزت أعماله بالسخرية من النظام السوفييتي، مما أدى إلى منع الكثير منها حتى الستينيات. من أشهر أعماله: "شيفنجور"، و"العودة"، و"الحفرة". تُوفي بلاتونوف عام 1951 في موسكو بعد صراع مع مرض السل، تاركًا وراءه إرثًا أدبيًا ثريًا يعكس تناقضات الحياة الإنسانية وصراعاتها.
