Approaching Loss

Loss comes at its own pace….amorphous and unknowable.

It can be relentless.....old age, a stalking lion, a vulgar little tumor.

It can be sudden, instantaneous; the head-on collision, the snap of the elevator cable, the rupture of a tiny blood vessel.

It may be at its worst when its approach is unseen. No preparation is possible. No chance for amends or prayers; no time for bargains with God.
