A New York Times Bestseller!
Long before the King of the Seven Seas joined the Justice League, Aquaman was a part of another super-team: The Others. These young costumed adventurers traveled the globe, each trying to find their own individual road to redemption.
Six years later after a grisly murder, The Others are reunited. They know only one man could be responsible: Black Manta. Aquaman must lead the charge to stop his arch-nemesis, but will the years have fractured The Others just enough to keep them from bringing this villain to justice?
By the critically acclaimed creative team behind BLACKEST NIGHT Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis, AQUAMAN VOLUME 2: THE OTHERS is the heart-stopping heart stopping follow up to the #1 New York Times best-selling AQUAMAN VOLUME 1: THE TRENCH. This volume collects issues #7-13.

Geoff Johns managed to take a character that was drowning in his own puns and denial, and reshape him into a force to be reckoned with once more. The first volume focused entirely on Aquaman coming to terms with both the literal and fictional torment and ridicule the character faces while searching for the silver lining that could redefine him. By this second volume, he's starting to see that he's more than "just the guy who talks to fish" and someone who has not only a deep history, but a darker one that he attempts to harmonize with in his current attempts at re-branding himself as a different kind of Hero. This book builds on the Lore and History of Aquaman/Atlantis/Black Manta, and continues to develop the main characters moral compass, focus, and responsibilities. Geoff Johns run on this series is a Novel with pretty pictures backed up by the talent of Reis and Prado; there's a ton of depth in a thickening plot as Johns takes an underrated and abused character and establishes him once again as a front-liner.
Vol. 2 is intense. Issues 0-6 focused on Aquaman being brought back and had little villany. Evil was faceless and the plot was foundational, not directional. Vol. 2 gives evil a name and face. It entails the next 6 issues and it does not dissapoint. Black Manta is on a quest to aquire all of the relics and to kill all the members of Aquaman's non-team team, "The Others". Aquaman's past makes him feel like he needs to go at it alone while all those who care for him fight to make sure he doesn't fight alone. This is a truely incredible story. It's a must buy and must read. I find my self slowly reading it, not wanting the story to end.
