Book exchanged for an honest review~ Ashlynn "Ash" Blake is sent by the Gods to investigate the murder of Elizabeth. Tyson "Ty" Sullivan stands accused of Elizabeth's murder but has no memory of killing her. Ash knows that Ty is innocent yet she doesn't have proof either. Ty is frantic with the need to search for Ash because neither he nor his dragon will allow him rest until Ash is found. Eros threatens Ty's life but also Ty's daughter Amissa as well. It's a race against the clock to prove Ty's innocence and find his missing brother Nikolas as well. Who is responsible for Elizabeth's death? Will Eros make good on his threat? Can Nikolas be found? Your answers await you in Ashes of War. I'm loving this series! The mix of modern and old myths is exciting. I love the characters! The characters are raw, real, honest, and powerful. The story is powerful, exciting, interesting, and compelling too. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Book two in the Sons of War series is just as exciting as the first book. This was another book that I read in less than a day because I just couldn't put it down. Ash (her preferred nickname instead of Ashlynn) is a goddess. She really isn't crazy about being reminded of this, but both of her parents were gods and she was born on Olympus which makes her a full goddess even if she is just a minor goddess of the hunt. Her mother is Artemis and her father it turns out was a god sentenced to an immortal life among mortals. His godhood was stripped from him for unknown reasons. Ash has been living among mortals for a long time though as she spies on the demigods and dragons for the gods' purposes. Her current assignment is to watch Ty, a dragon son of Ares, to determine if he is guilty of killing another Goddess (or two). Upon seeing him, she is immediately drawn to him. Apparently gods, goddesses, and demigods are immediately drawn to their soul mates. She has been trying her hardest to stay out of Ty's life, but it has come to a point where she must get answers directly from him in order to prove his innocence. This is her mission and if she must seduce him or even die in while trying, so be it. She just has to find a way to break down Ty's walls in order to get him to trust her. She must discover the reason behind his deep hatred of all women and try not to completely fall in love with him in the process.  I loved this book, much like the first one. The most upsetting part about it is that there's only one more book in the series for me to read before I have to move on to another series or author. I love the mix of Greek mythology and the dragon shapeshifters. The character development i wonderful. Even though things happen over a short period of time, you really get the feeling that time doesn't matter in their immortal lives. A week to them feels like a day or even a month. It feels like it is possible to fall in love with someone without saying, "I haven't known them long enough." This is a problem I find in a lot of books, that the love couldn't have happened that fast, but I don't feel that way about this story. A fantastic read for those that love romance, Greek myth, and dragons.

3.5 of 5 Stars Ashlynn Blake, minor goddess of the hunt, has been tasked with judging accused dragon shifter, Ty Sullivan, with his supposed crimes.  Feeling he is blameless she needs to prove his innocence to the gods.   I enjoyed Ashlynn.  I like that she is the daughter of Artemis, having a connection with animals and the hunt.  I appreciated that she went above and beyond to find out the truth. Ty has been through a lot, making it hard for him to trust.  He is a strong man for surviving being tortured.  He is a worthy hero whom a truly enjoyed. The plot was mysterious and action packed.  It had numerous twists keeping me engaged.  It was interesting and fast paced.  Ashes of War is a clever story that is a quick pleasurable read.   Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

Love Ty and Ash!! Love the Sons of War Series! Sexy dragons, whats not to love! In Ashes of War we follow Ty's journey to prove his innocence and protect his loved ones! He doesn't trust women easily. Truths are untold and secrets are revealed! Ash is responsible to figure out Ty's guilt or innocence. Will she gain Ty's trust? Will she get the information she needs? Will Ash be able to save her mate and show him the true meaning of mates? Loved it!

Love these Dragons!! Ty has been burned by women before and don’t trust them. He feels a pull towards Ash, knows she is his mate, but don’t want to admit to it and tries his best to push her away because of those trust issues. Ty’s story was about the strength it took for a man to forgive/forget and learn to be true to himself. I liked this part: Ty let out a low growl. "Female, what did I tell you about being in my room?" Ash face him, brows raised and a smile on her face. "If I got my scent in your space, you'd f**k me until I scream." Ash knows how Ty feels about women, but she has to gain his trust so that she can help prove his innocence. She also feels the pull, knows that Ty is her mate, and once they admit their feelings things are HOT between them. I love Ty and Ash together. My favorite part, I think, was when Ash got Ty to let her take off his sunglasses, because that meant that he trusted her to take them off and see the “REAL” Ty and then that is when Ty started to give in to the feelings for her, in my opinion. This book kept you hooked through the entire book. It was fast paced and the smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of suspense, action, and romance. The author makes you feel like you are there experiencing it with them, because of the detailed descriptions of each scene with well written details that capture the imagination. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series in Artemis's Hunt.

If you have been following this blog at all you will know of my adoration of Lia Davis’ War’s Passion, which is book 1 in this series. In fact it was the first book I was compelled to add to my Best of 2014 list. So it was with great trepidation and patience I waited for this book to be released. I’m thrilled that I was given a review copy early and this is one of the books that I actually read on my way to RomCon. And it was worth the wait, let me tell you. You know the author has you in good hands when you want to shout on a plane, “No she DIDN’T.” And I nearly did because Ms. Davis took this story to a level that I hoped she would. At this junction, let me say you need to go read War’s Passion to get the complete scope of this book’s uniqueness. There are so many insights and gems that are scattered throughout the book that you will not be fully cognizant of unless you have the back story. Ty’s story is of a man that has suffered in many ways including physical and emotional torture at the hands of a woman he thought cared for him. To make the matter worse he has lost all memory of the events during his time he was captured and brutalized. Unfortunately, he is accused of killing this woman that just so happens to be one of the Goddesses during this time and truly has nothing to say in his defense. But thankfully Ashlynn Blake has been given the task of discovering Ty’s guilt or innocence regarding the murder by fair means or foul. Ash isn’t above using every tool in her arsenal to ensure that Ty is found to be innocent because she knows that he is the one for her. There is something refreshing about seeing a story where it is the guilt/innocence of the male character being questioned. More often then not it is the role that the female plays whether this is in regards to her virtue or a petty crime that she has been accused of and very often by the actual villain. The fact that Ash has real gift of seeing a person’s true heart and intentions was a welcome part of this story. And Ty’s anguish and mistrust of woman as a whole is well founded and not something that he casually gets over when he falls in love with Ash. There is a true feeling of the journey that he undergoes during this story. And I must admit that I’m a little in love with Ty now when I wasn’t before. Now the elephant in the room is the chemistry between these two amazing characters, well I can safely say you will need a nice glass of wine or in my case, because I was reading this 30,000 feet in the air, a ginger ale. These two together are why we come back to romance books time and time again. Just amazing. Final Thoughts: Grab this book and if you haven’t grabbed War’s Passion, then what are you waiting for. The links for both are below and I truly believe you will not be disappointed in the continuing story of these dragon shifters. Fated Desire Publishing provided me with a copy of Ashes of War but nothing else was exchanged for my honest review.
