At the Roots, Reaching for the Sky: Building Community in the City

At the Roots, Reaching for the Sky chronicles nearly 40 years of work in neighborhoods in the city of St. Louis,
Missouri. The author got to know and love, African American families and children. Together as neighbors, a community developed where people related positively and worked together to build small businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
